The Struggles Of Dealing With Weight Gain

in #steemit7 years ago

Recently I had to go to a doctors visit due to me not going for about a year. It was already time for me to get a yearly physical. I knew I was not confident because of the weight I had recently gained and it did not help being called overweight when I was only 20 pounds over my last physical. I understand I did gain weight however, when you measure someone using body mass index you are measuring the muscle and fat differently.

If you have gained muscle it will still put you at a higher body mass index because it sees it as a gain but it cannot tell between muscle gained or fat gain. I exercise often as well as try to eat as healthy and regularly I can although I maintain the same weight. I am also trying intermittent fasting to help with losing the fat while still maintaining my three to four day exercise rituals a week.

This is bothering me and if anyone has any helpful tips on how they lost extra weight or any exercises that have helped let me know!

Yeah that's one of the problems of bmi although a simple mirror test can probably show whether the weight gain was muscle or fat.

One of the things that worked tremendously well was cutting out dairy. That alone was about 800 calories per day for me.

Would that be like diary as in all the extra cheese on things you eat and dairy products like milk?

Mostly milk - 3 to 4 glasses per day. Flavored milk as well as in coffee.

A slice of cheese a couple of times per week as well.

Sounds good thanks for the input I will try it out!
