RE: Map and analysis of ALL non-English European communities on Steemit with my advices about tags

in #steemit8 years ago

This is for you. Posts till 25th May.

Galician

Official language in: Galicia (Spain)
Native speakers: 2.4 million (2012)

Summary

There are eight Galician posts on Steemit in May and only three of them have a language-like tag. There is some potential in creating a community, but they need more authors and better organisation. It’s hard to say in what direction it will go.

BETTER NOT continue publishing with tag:

  • combination of native names of languages: galego-portugues.

NOT suggested tags for the community:

  • English and native name of community: galicia (currently no non-Galician posts but they will come in future),
  • based on language ISO: gl (multiple meanings).

Continue publishing with tag:

  • native name of language: galego.

Other suggested tags for the community:

  • English name of language: galician,
  • native name of community: galiza,
  • based on language ISO: glg,
  • based on community TLD: gal.

A lot of thanks of all galician speakers.
I had already contemplated that the tag #galego-portugues was a bad idea.
Thanks Again.

I think, any language, independent of in which state it is spoken, should be listed as long ad there is a (considerable) user base in steemit.

It was hard enough to find posts in all official languages. I can't imagine doing the same for all European languages...

I share yout view about increased complexity
