Is Steemit Ready to Grow?
Because all of you are here, you all obviously know about steem. I personally love the concept and blockchain of Steem. But the real question is how fast can Steemit grow? I see many many complaints on YouTube and Instagram with people saying “I’ve been waiting 2 weeks for approval!” If Steemit ever hopes to get to a mainstream social media, they need to confirm accounts in seconds. Not days or weeks. If their blockchain is so fast, why does it take them so long to confirm accounts?
With that said, another deterrent to Steemit to the regular person is the whole password situation. Most main stream social media users, who’ve never used blockchain, are going to be confused and turned away by the fact they have to use a long and random password. Why not just go to what most exchanges have and just use a normal password with Google 2FA?
These are just my thoughts on Steemit. The concept is great but the appeal to the mainstream social media user (which is what Steemit wants to become) is super weak. I think it’s time to update these things if Steemit even wants hope of becoming a Facebook or Instagram some day.
That password IS quite a bear. I've stored mine in several different private places, both online and in real life in hopes of always having it accessible to me in some way or another.
I can understand the need to have this #blockchain method of access, because it makes it less likely for someone to steal ones password if it's that complicated.
Hopefully, in time, we'll be allowed to change these character salads into passwords that are strong but, still, easy to remember.
