Steemit Gear for Little Kitty: A New Bow - feat. Mommy
A lot of people have been commenting on how cute my collar flower is, and I wanted to show off my Steemit pride, so I asked Mommy to make me a Steemit bow. She doesn't have much crafting supplies in our house, but of course, I helped! Mommy thought a little collar bow would be very easy to make, but this is her first tutorial, so try to be nice :)
First you need some supplies:
- Ribbon (different colors!)
- Hot glue or other glue
- Mini elastic
- (optional buttons and logo)
- (kind of optional Tall-Boy)
Ribbon
We'll start with the ribbon. (this part mommy did because I do not have thumbs like those cool Hemmingway cats) Grab the ends of the ribbons with your thumb against the base of your pointer finger. Then, wrap the ribbons around your other 4 fingers (or how ever many you have). The more wraps you do, the fuller your bow will be. Fingers together = small bow, fingers spread= big bow. Next, spread your middle and ring fingers "live long and prosper" style and tie a short piece of ribbon around the whole wrap (don't go through the middle.) Pull it tight! We now have our base bow.
Elastic
Next, we'll add the backing and elastic. Hot glue a button to the back of the bow and let it dry. Then, hot glue a piece of elastic onto the button. Easy!
Decorate
Now, it's just time for decor. Mommy glued and taped over the Steemit logo onto another button for the front.
Last step is taking your scissors, cutting the loops on both sides, and trimming the ragged edges to the length and shape that you want! Tah-dah!
Strut your stuff and Take a nap
Now I'm a cute poofball with a Steemit bow!
First picture of littlekitty is a keeper. He looks like he (she) is trying to tell you something. :)
I'm a she, and I'm saying "LOOK AT MY NEW BOW!" (=^.^=)
