No I totally feel you in that, that’s why I was one foot out the door until everyone pulled me back in with good sound reason. Don’t write for reward, break away from what “people might want to hear” and lose yourself in your passions. Trust me. As soon as you let go and say “damn the concequences” you’ll find people value your true inner voice. The Real you! And if they don’t, to hell with them as you don’t want them as followers anyway... there are a ton of people here just like you and feel the same way. I just happen to creatively “lose my shit” and vented for all of us at once... no way did I expect it to blow up and go viral, but it did. All because people were pissed. They thought their awesome work wasn’t good enough when “I know it is!” Ive seen it on reddit as well as other popular social networks. So don’t beat yourself up, dig a little deeper into yourself, if you weren’t getting paid and didn’t give a shit about whales or minnows and just wanted to write... what would you write about? That right there, that’s what you write about... you could write a post right now just to vent and get a ton of different responses, and when the negative comments come, don’t take it personal, spin it in a positive way. - I read this one article one time, a Fairly Large Woman posted a photo of herself as she wanted to overcome her fear of wearing a bathing suit. - people ate her alive in comments! Beached whale, out your clothes on you’ll scare the kids! All kinds of mean shit... know what she did? She SLAYED THEM with kindness... one lady said she was fat, the large woman responded. “You’re so beautiful and thin, I wish I was like” all sorts of kind comments, and EVERYSINGLE one caved and apologized. See people crave reality in a digitally led world, they sometimes comment mean shit forgetting that an actual person with feelings is on the other end... what I’m saying is don’t lose yourself her, keep yourself. Think about everything and anything. Write about what “you” think is cool. Eventually people will be drawn to you... they can’t help it.. it’s reality we all crave...
