How To NOT Be Successful On SteemIt: Steem Tips For Newbies.
If you're reading this then congratulations,you have reached SteemIt. Yay for you! So you already discovered SteemIt and see how much people make just by doing something you're already doing on Facebook,Reddit,Twitter etc. You're excited to finally be financially independent,you spent 5 hours writing your killer post. You finally wrote and publishes it and excitedly stare at your computer to watch the upvote pours. But much to your disappointment it didn't get enough votes.
Disappointing right? You spend all day thinking what you did wrong,it was a killer post. So you're on a desperate state,you're in dire need of follows and all the upvotes. Here's some tip you should do if you DON'T want to be successful on SteemIt.
Beg people for follow: "Good post,follow me I will follow you back." You probably see that generic comment on popular posts. First of all,it's been said a lot of times that Follow4Follow is lame! That's a great way to NOT get followers. Trust me it doesn't work. Knock it off,its for your own good! If you insist on building a follower however then engage on posts that you actually like. Leave related and well thought of comments and likeminded people will follow you. Rome wasn't build on a day,it takes effort and a lot of work.
Plagiarize: You're thinking to yourself "SteemIt sucks,my killer post didn't get paid like i supposed to. Fuck writing and thinking of a killer article for hours,im just gonna copy and paste!" My protip: DONT. Don't even think of it,you'll get caught. There are a couple of SteemIt police bots that are going to catch you and you will be put in internet jail. Trust me internet jail is the last place you'll want to be in. @cheetah and @steemcleaners are policing this place 24/7. Cite your source everytime you have to use their material and link to the original material. Not only they pick up plagiarize contents but they will also flag you for comment spam and tag spam. So make sure your tags are appropriate to your post.
Be a link friend on chatrooms: What's a link friend you asked? Read @neoxian 's perfect definition of a link friend. Trust me you're risking a downvote doing that. It really grinds people's gear when someone just pop up on personal messages on chats and just straight up send you a link to their post asking for an upvote. Not even a hi or a hello,they will just send you a link! Being a link friend is a good way to gain people that will rage downvote your post,however. Piss off a whale: Fun fact: Whales loves to snack on minnows. You definitely don't want to piss off a whale,spamming them messages begging for upvote on your post is a good way to get whales to flag you instead. I've seen it on every whales profiles,check it yourself and look how a lot of people are sending messages to whales on their wallets begging for upvote on their post,or asking for "donations". Trust me 9 times out 10 they will never upvote your post! Be creative,write valuable content and you might get noticed by whales.
So those are ways to NOT be successful on SteemIt. Do all of those and i can guarantee you 100% that you're destined to fail. I recently experienced the link friend scenario and I'm not even a dolphin or a whale or anything significant. I can only imagine what whales go through on a daily basis. I still cannot believe that people send .001 SBD and ask to be upvoted to these whales. I mean come on people that's where the bots are for. I was speaking to a whale the other day, he had a similar post, and I asked him what he dose when people send him $ for upvotes. Very sternly he replied, I send it back and warned them not to do it again. I was so proud
That's a whale with principle LOL It's funny that some people thought that sending someone .001 SBD will actually give them their $20, $30 upvote in return.
That person/whale seemed very cool. A little to out there with his writing for me to follow, but filled with integrity nonetheless. I was looking at another whales wallet and noticed she received over 100++ request a day. There is no way she can reply to all her comments(which she does daily) post, edit, and comment on other post while also sending all this $$ money back to people. If I were her I would just keep it. Not worth the hassle.
