Steemit is a social media platform just like facebook and others that pay both author of a post and commentor (called curator). We came across steemit in different ways; some people came know about it through a friend while other people came to know it on a forum discussion. If your steem power value is $1.2 you know how much you're going to realise from 10 posts and 10 comments and multiply that by 6 days. To achieve this, newbie you gonna invest in it.

2 JOIN CONTEST AND CHALLENGES: There are a lot of contests going on here, just find yurself one you can join to participate, you might be lucky to win sbd although it might be small like 0.01sbd or 0.05sbd you might as well win 5sbd in a contest. Similar thing goes to challenge, join one to participate luck might smile on you.
Note that there are a lot of fake contests as well, just look before you leap around any contest or challenge.
