The portuguese speaking community at Steemit grows every day. We can already see several portuguese authors posting content in Portuguese. People from Brazil, Portugal and other portuguese speaking countries are feeding the platform with high quality content and even with the tag "portuguese"not being registered as one of the official "tags" of Steemit, it has been widely used, as you may be see the trending page below:

But we do not want to be in the "Darkness of Steemit", nor be accused of spam and carry flags for using an "unofficial" tag of the platform. That is why I, as one of the oldest and most reputable portuguese speaking user in Steemit, come through this post, ask those who have the power to do so to register the "portuguese" tag as the place where all the posts will be identified of portuguese language on the platform.

Here we already have two projects that take care of the curation and dissemination of posts and authors of Portuguese language:

The first project is the @gazetagaleguia, which the responsible is @freyman and performs a great job of curating and dissemination in others social media such as Twitter of Steemit posts written in Portuguese. The second project is the Camões Project ( @camoes ), which aims to disseminate and curate posts in Portuguese. Project Camões is a project of my own and that starts its work in a short time, but already have been revealed great authors who surely need a lot of attention because of their written posts of high quality.

Here is my request and request to anyone who has the power to register the tag #portuguese among the tags found in Steemit. Thank you very much from now on.
