In the unlikely case that you've followed me and still are unaware of most of these guys, or come across this post accidentally, this might be a handy list of people to follow if you're new to the website.

@krNel - This guy is a prolific poster, articles ranging from technology to philosophy, consciousness and morality. Sometimes posts multiple times a day, but the quality isn't compromised, I don't know how he does it, to be honest.

@lifeworship - Generally posts about health and alternate medicine and treatment. Really caught my attention when he showed me "Bob Beck's Protocol"

@fyrstikken - This guy also a has a youtube channel where he talks about conspiracy theories, truth, investigation, religious topics, is politically incorrect, eccentric and funny guy. You can expect the same from his steemit blog. Doesn't shy away from upvoting your posts if they're half decent.

@shayne - Very active in the community, and social media in general, also available on steemit.chat regularly, follow him for frequent news updates and politics.

@shenanigator - Writes about finance, investing and crypto currencies. Has several insightful posts that I've made use of, I found him on the "hot" section multiple times.

@kyriacos - Blogs about pretty much everything, very original, honest, is non-conforming, you may find some of his content controversial, but it's thought provoking nonetheless. He was active since the early days, and blogged his way to a lot of popularity and money.

@justtryme90 - Mostly about biological sciences, follow him if you occasionally like reading the article from a popular science magazine.

@ausbitbank - Lots of steemit meta posts, well known guy in the anarchist circles. Australian.

@demotruk - Mostly about investing, expect some humourous stuff as well. A post of his regarding 'taxation of crypto-currecy assets' caught my attention initially.

@dwinblood - Game dev. He's presently doing a DAZ 3D series . Has written some useful tutorials for newbies, but the content really isn't restricted to a specific category, you may find posts teaching you how to create an account to trade in poloniex as well as purely philosophical posts like this one, titled "The ultimate questions: What am I? Why am I? Where can I go?"

@gktown - Relatively newer to steemit, but probably one of the hardest working guys I've seen around here. He is approachable on steemit chat, and if you're a minnow, he might be your goto guy for all sorts of things.

@jerrybanfield - Sort of a mini celebrity, and if you're into crytpos, you might've already come across him on youtube. Also blogs about life experiences and self improvement apart from the bitcoin stuff.

@renzoarg - Met this guy on steemit chat, tons of amazing content, I fail to see why he's not more popular. I thought his blog posts about A.I were interesting. Loves his programming and chess, is the kind of guy who'd build his own virtual A.I assistant if he got bored.

@trafalgar - Comedian. Is fucking hilarious and this is his bio :

Satirical columnist and political commentator - If you think self upvoting is lame, I made multiple Tinder profiles just so I could right swipe myself

You know what you'd get if you follow him.

@neoxian - is working closely in the steemit development, just useful content in general about the community and technical stuff

@r0nd0n - A friend of mine, is currently doing a series on "investigation tools" . I might be biased here, but he's got serious potential.

I may keep updating this list as this is no way is a complete one, and I wrote in a hurry.

Sort:

Gee, I'm seeing this too late thanks to steemit.chat's failure (therefore, not getting the mention notifications). Thanks for it!

Now, I expect YOU to create content! My articles are mere reflections of what other peoples's ideas trigger in my mind!

You're welcome.

My articles are mere reflections of what other peoples's ideas trigger in my mind!

One can argue that all human knowledge is a product of their experience, that is, every single piece of information they've managed to obtain from OTHER PEOPLE and the sensational experiences of life.

In essence, we're all triggering each other's minds to squeeze out content!

Nope, one of the rewards scientists have is... Being able to acquire knowledge no other person has. For a couple of days: You are the only person that knows something!

That is, until you publish your work :D

The secondary reward, is seeing how people builds stuff around your discovery/idea/theory.

All of the information a scientist has to work with is some empirical data and previous discoveries; insights from other scientists's work (past or present). It's all just collaborative work and building on our existing knowledge base. We then accumulate "new" insights into our repositories. Any one person's contribution is mostly insignificant compared to what we already know! But when all of that adds up through collaborative effort, what we have is truly glorious.

Also, "being able to acquire knowledge no one has" is not exclusive to scientists, like i said, they have some data and prior insights to work with, but these days, most of it is made public online in places like arxiv :)

What previous discovery led into the discovery of the controlled fire? the wheel? bow and arrows? Astronomy?
They may not have worn a white overall. But they were scientists in their time.
Several scientific discoveries were found by accident, yes, explainable by previous studies but they didn't rely on them to be found.

It is true that "data pooling" is the essence of humankind, nobody, ever, will be able to know everything. Yet, we can do try to know as much as possible!

I've followed you Joseph! This is the type of content I like to see... Lets build this network together buddy.

Good list! How about @dollarvigilante ? He posts very good info also and is pretty active in here..
I am pretty new in here and will definitely check these guys out! Thanks! :)

Jeff Berwick is a known scammer. He has some good ideas about crypto, but he is not the kind of person I want to support.

What ? Are you serious? Can you please tell me more about it?
I'm sorry for posting false info then..

Thank you, I will read it with time !

Well yea, he is active but some prominent members here don't trust the guy and disagree with his ideas, besides, he has a shady past

Nice post @josephd, This is really useful, some new names on this for me. Thanks.

I was thinking that this was a pretty good list, but then you went and ruined it by putting my name on there. :P

Thanks! Will follow several. :)

Great post. Saw your comment in the FB Anarcrypt group. I am new to Steemit. This helps tremendously.

Great post! I follow you, you know what you are talking about!
