Using new algortihm to distribute curation and authorship rewards more "fairly"

Interesting post from user @dantheman that addresses the flaw of whales having so much clout, that the system utilized by Steemit renders smaller users impotent, and their content virtually invisible and worthless.

This would create quite a stir, I believe, as the whales who are strict capitalists would call foul. Don't get me wrong, I'm a capitalist myself, of the anarcho- variety. But this is only a website, not life per se, and I enjoy profit in the same way that the heavy-hitters enjoy it.

I understand that the whales who have massive content production because it is essentially their day job do not have the time to follow everyone and curate en masse. But they should strive to achieve greater balance if their genuine motive is to foster a truly revolutionary platform. In the HBO series "Rome", Julius Caesar, upon reforming the Senate, stated to Cicero that he wished the Senate "to be made up of the best men in Italy, not just the richest old men in Rome". That should absolutely apply here, as all Steemers wield more influence when they link arms; that is how the system is designed.

If the success and vitality of the platform is to be fully realized, then much more content needs to be shown then just that of an elite few.

Maybe the whales have enough and they don't need more. We'll see.
