Alternatives to Steemit.com Signup!
Have you been struggling to get your Steem account created? Here are two account creation services that I hope are really helpful for you to get a Steem account created fast!
1. https://steemit.com/pick_account is the official method to get an account and is totally free! I recommend trying this several times before using any others!
2. https://anon.steem.network/ by @someguy123 is nearly instant and only costs 6 Steem to use which I believe is returned in vests.
3. https://v2.steemconnect.com/accounts/create allows using Steemconnect to set the account up yourself as long as you have the Steem to fund it!

Instead of trying to fleece unsuspecting, potential new users with $50 sign-ups and $180 witness tutorials, why not share the already existing services that do both things for 10 STEEM and free, respectively?
Are your post rewards simply not enough to sustain your stockpiles of oatmeal and peanut butter? Are you not feeling wealthy enough today?

It doesn't require close reading at all. And your "updating" has no effect on how you're perceived...other than making you look even more foolish.
well I did get a lot of dm's from some wishing to remain anon who were not pleased and some took the huge leap to even upvote my own op/ed post which I rarely do one like that.......but for all us PLEBIANS who put in a lot of effort in content and curation and such we don't like feeling we are being "SteemFailures"

I cant believe people are actually upvoting and promoting this kind of thing. Its sad to see the loss of decency just to chase after a few dollars.
There's a solution here:
Make a note of who upvotes these posts. Then, stop supporting those users.
I just concentrate on the top 10 since they have the most influence on his post. The only ones that are somewhat surprising are @sweetsssj and @teamsteem since they have such a good reputation on Steemit.
Sometimes reputations aren't what they seem, especially for the latter user that you mentioned.
It might be possible that @jerry.. to be on their upvote bot list.

Yup, this is absolutely brutal. Took back my witness vote as well. It is clear that Banfield only cares about the money here and not the betterment of steemit. What is really shitty is seeing some of the automatic whale upvotes on a post like this.
i always had a bad feeling about this jerrybanfield guy. After this post I know why. Him being sneaky and updating the post makes it even worse..

I've just made an updated post about AnonSteem, with information about how to buy cryptocurrency, how account recovery works, and other useful tips.
AnonSteem is fully automated, you will have your account within 5 minutes of entering your username.
Perfect I just added the image and a direct link at the beginning of the post to encourage users to try this first!
So your service would only be for people that don't have any crypto yet, but are so excited about steemit and so confident they will make back the $50 dollars that they go the route of steemfail. I would guess that they will quickly realize that it is not as easy to make money as they thought and quite possibly never recoup their loss.
Also why are you using the delegation route to create accounts? That is the expensive way. Are you ignorant of that or deceiving people?
Maybe you should've opened a fiat exchange buying steem requires buying bitcoins a hassle in my opinion

First of All, Thanks for the info @jerrybanfield. I like your posts, they are very informative.
What about the https://anon.steem.network/ service, I guess it allows steemit account creation with fee that's much lower than $50.
I assume you are using steemit api to create these accounts, and a bot for automation of these tasks. And I believe, as of now, creating steemit accounts don't cost more than 6 steem. Have a look..

If the steemit.com account creation has failed and you did not get your account you can use something else.There is a website where you can make the account yourself with a small fee. Guess how much is that fee? 10 STEEM!!!
The website is called AnonSteem
AnonSteem allows you to purchase new STEEM accounts using Bitcoin or Litecoin.
You can pay with Litecoin,Bitcoin and steem and you don't need you phone number,or any details.
I sugest you pay with Litecoin as it's faster with lower transaction fees.
Don't pay 50 STEEM !
Or if you want to help a friend you can make him an account using a new tool from Busy.org with only 6 STEEM !
Go to https://v2.steemconnect.com/accounts/create
Choose account name .Will turn green if available
Save the password
Go to https://steemd.com/ and find the current value for account_creation_fee.Multiply the value by 30.Now the creation fee is 0.200 so it will be 6 STEEM.
Make sure you have the STEEM in your wallet
Connect with your own steemit account
That's it.You got your friend a new account .EASY and FAST.
Or a faster way with Steempy -steem-python:

This is the last straw @jerrybanfield, I'm extremely disappointed by this. First when you started witnessing you were selling FREE information for setting up a witness for $180! Now you want to rip off people by creating accounts for them for $50!!!! Anonsteem costs 10 STEEM, Steemconnect costs 6 STEEM. Why they hell are you scamming people? You just lost my vote.
Guys, do not get swindled by this service, it's a rip-off.
That fee is too big, no offense.
This is an absolutely terrible idea. Charging people over 30 steem to create an account that is free. Jerry's greed comes shining through in this post. How are we supposed to encourage people to start using the site when one of the main influences out there has created a service charging 50 steem for something that should be free. If people are very desperate to get an account set up go visit https://anon.steem.network/ and get yours made for 10 steem. this is brutal for the development of steem
Nobody will join if they have to pay. Steemit will become stagnant, and worse it will lose users over time.
This has nothing to do with steemit.com. It is about Jerry's website.

It is nice that we have an alternative way to sign up on Steemit, But as Jerry said in his post, we must first try to register in Steemit.com. If we fail to create an account, then, that is the time we can use his service.

Are you serious? This isn't help. This is boldfaced swindling. https://v2.steemconnect.com/accounts/create - you can create an account for 6 Steem and that Steem is vested as Steem Power in your new account.

I understand your purpose in your post and it feels so good to know that you are helping me by introducing another Steemit platform which is much better. I could have felt your genuineness if only you have said it in a nicer way. I know that this is out of your rant and I completely understand you.
@Jerrybanfield : You are offering a good service. However, many Steemitians are not happy with your charge because it is unreasonable. Please consider lowering down your charge.
This wouldn't be as much of an issue if some time had been spent investigating whether other methods of paid sign up exist. We got the issue sorted up in #witness on chat, but still; this is something that could easily have been avoided. The last thing Steemit needs is for new users to find Jerry's method, pay the fee, and then realize afterward that there were cheaper methods.
New users don't know where to look or what to look for. Those of us that have been here and have a high enough reputation have, and they should know better. I'm just glad it was sorted.
