Steemit - The Future of Social Media?
The more I think about it, the more I think Steemit has amazing potential, and here's why.
When you compare this to other social media platform where people behave like assess to each other, over here on Steemit, people have an incentive to be nic-er. I mean, if you are angry and want to be ranting some crap about someone else, you would have to think twice about that, because your crap can't be taken down after 7 days.
But apart from that, what I am talking about are the followers, the upvoters, and the responses and comments which come from these people.
A good comment or a response is what actually makes the ambience of any social media platform.
Imagine an art gallery filled with the most amazing pieces of art.
But the art gallery is empty.
No one knows it, no one is interested in it. In fact, people don't think the art pieces are actually nice.
Now imagine that beautiful art gallery filled with people who genuinely admire and love the art pieces. Take it a step further, and imagine now people actually clamouring over themselves just to get their hands on the best art piece in the gallery.
No matter how we wanna slice it, as content creators, we gotta really admit that it is THE people that helps define the value of an art piece. It is the AUDIENCE that makes any piece of content worth something. Without a nice audience, a friendly audience, you could have the best content in the world, but it means pretty much shit if no one is going to see it, or be a little nicer or supportive of what you just created for the world to see, right?
That's why I think Steemit has such an amazing potential for the future of social media. It's like a cycle.
If people are incentivised to be nice and supportive, it just encourages content creators to become even better. And the loop goes on, you know, it doesn't really end.

Totally agree with you @jassicania! Even though Steemit encourages you to comment nice things to get an upvote and earn some $ but when people do that on a daily basis (making nice remarks to one another), it will definitely rub off some good into them! Cause positive and good remarks and comments will gradually seeps into you without you knowing it and it becomes a habit and potentially turns oneself into a happy and lovable being. So go Steemians! with all the beautiful, original and encouraging comments and post.
Oh my goodness , exactly this is what I think too and totally forgot to cover on the video!! YES! Totally agree with you - hopefully this will rub off Steemians, and when they head of to other platforms, it becomes an ingrained habit to be "nice" hahahah. Thank you for your thoughts!

one thing keeps amazing me about Steemit... how the Whales are generally kind to new on-boarders.
I really believe that Steemit has the potential to go very far.. I look forward to the gradual updates from time to time on Steemit.
Is that what it is? I really love that. Yes I am really pleasantly surprised myself by the upvote given by DTube as it does go a long way. Fingers crossed like you said, that Steemit can hold its own for time to come.

The challenge any video platform has is maintaining the infrastructure to support all the uploads. Yes, I'd agree that Steemit/DTube is the future because it may be able to handle the volume of creators and their content. Getting in at the ground floor does give you a great advantage.
That is true, and I feel that based on where Steemit is headed towards, I don't see why more social media users won't convert in the future. That's why now we Steemians should leverage on the fact that we are already pretty much in the game.
Comment upvoted - however it is STILL not getting reflected on the numbers.
