Success is not final, failure is not fatal

in #steemit6 years ago

Success is never the final destination as one will yearn for more success. A successful man still wants more success.
Failure will be total failure if one fails and he quits, failure is not fatal, it should be experience.
The way one reacts to failure goes s long way in determining how such a person will succeed.

A man became the CEO of a world class company at age 25 but died at age 40 while another man became the CEO of the same company at age 50 and died at age 110.
Success and failure are relative, what others see as success some see as failure and vice versa.
Success comes in different ways depending on the individual. To a primary school pupil, success is graduating and being promoted to secondary school. To a secondary school student, success is graduating and gaining admission into higher institution. While to an entrepreneur, it's expansion, to some it's the ability to remain relevant in the society, to some it's just to get money to feed himself and his immediate family.

A young graduate didn't get work after graduating, he's always submitting his CV here and there, always writing one interview or the other, always at one training or the other. When he saw nothing was coming forth, he started engaging himself in menial jobs, just to make ends meet. He's failing and succeding at the same time, but the failure is more pronounced than the success. While another young graduate who has a very rich and influential father got a very lucrative job immediately he finished at the university, he rose to the top of the office very fast, at age 20, he was already the HOD of his department, at 22 he's was the managing Director, and at age 23 he has risen to the very apogee of the company, meanwhile his mate I talked about earlier is still struggling to find his feet. He eventually met a friend who introduced him to someone then he got a job as an office assistant in the same organization at age 25, while his mate is already the CEO of this same organization.
As time went by, he was gradually getting promoted but in a not so fast way, but he was consistent and hard working. He worked for the company for 20 years and resigned at age 45 to take up a very lucrative job at another firm. He started as a manager then rose to a prominent figure in the organization, then within 5 years, he has gotten to the very top. Then he said, 'success is not final, failure is not fatal'.

Some see success as being able to raise a Godly family, some see it in their children, some in their good wives. There are blessings in every disappoint, just that we see the fatality in failure and not the lesson taught.

When I was in the university some years back, I did a course called circuit theory, I love the course but I just didn't know how I failed it. Yes, I love it and I always understand it whenever I'm being taught but after the class, I don't practice any exercise on any topic. I always love coming to the class, take attendance, jot down some notes etc but I was so shocked I had an F when I saw the result, so I had to write it again next session. Next session, I didn't go to class as much as the previous session because the classes were clashing with another course in my class. So I read all the notes I had the previous session, read so many books on the course from the library, and from the Internet and I watched so many teachings on the course on YouTube, and I ensured I practiced so many exercises on all the textbooks I lay my hands on. Then I say for the exams. I knew I'll have an A when I was in the exam hall because I have practiced all the questions one time or the other. When the result was released this time I had 86%.
Fine, I was disappointed at first but I used the failure to my advantage and got the best possible result. Then I realized success is not final, failure is not fatal

Success is not final, failure is not fatal but the courage to continue that matters.
