Steemit Communities: So far, so good

in #steemit4 years ago

I don't know how long the Steemit "Communities" paradigm has been in effect, as I only noticed it this evening when I logged in (along with the blue "We're rolling out communities..." banner at the top of the landing page. I sometimes miss things that are hiding in plain sight right in front of me, so who knows how long I've been overlooking it, though I'm somewhat certain the rollout started today.

In any case, I think Steemit Communities is a fantastic idea that may bring a long-overdue sense of organization and cohesiveness to the platform, and may make it much easier for tribe members to find each other. While Steemians may comprise a meta tribe, I believe the Steemit ecosystem itself is a collection of tribes. The easier it is for like-minded individuals and other proverbial birds-of-a-feather to connect, the more powerful this platform becomes, with a corresponding greater benefit for all.

I certainly look forward to browsing Steemit by overall topic, rather than by clicking on tags and wondering what is escaping my attention due to poorly or inaccurately tagged posts.
