This is spot on, I just joined recently and after my intro post all I've done is comment, even though I have some posts close to ready. A couple tips:
- Comment on posts you are interested in. If you're interested comments will flow naturally. It's hard to add anything of value otherwise.
- If the post is something you enjoyed, tell the poster why and maybe add what you'd like to see in the future from the poster
- If you have a suggestion make it, the other day I posted about a tv show review and added a suggestion of a similar type of show, this spurred a small conversation.
Overall just post and upvote on things you are interested in, enjoy, or have been helpful to you. If you spend a few minutes with a comment both authors and readers will be more likely to upvote, converse, and follow you.
