How about a "Hide Post" option.

As I said in a previous post, I view Steemit as a blogging platform than a social media platform. Therefore I don't feel that Steemit is competing with other blockchain social media. Instead I see everything complementing each other. Of course, if a platform is based on the Steem blockchain, it would be a preferred option.
Yesterday I decided to try Zappl. It's a Twitter-like platform based on the Steem Blockchain. I use twitter to promote my Photoblog posts; I write the title, a short description, attach the photo and include the appropriate hashtags. So, I did the same in Zappl for my latest Steemit post. Bummer. The result was that I had two posts on my Steemit blog, next to each other. with the same photo; essentially, the same post twice.
There are a few people who would like to see a "Delete Post" button on Steemit. It would certainly be useful for the times someone, for whatever reason, wants to delete something they wrote. Now, the blockchain cannot be easily modified therefore the a "Delete Post" option is not possible. Still, a post can exist in the blockchain but not be visible in a person's blog. So, a "Hide Post" option would be a viable solution.
Another thing that comes to my mind is the option for different Steem Blockchain platforms to have a certain level of "autonomy" from Steemit. I don't think it is good that Steemit automatically cross-posts everything that is created by an account on the blockchain. Let's suppose that I make ten posts on Zappl that are one sentence long; that's what micro-blogging is about. I don't want them to appear on Steemit because although those posts would make sense on Zappl, they would appear completely out of context on Steemit. Some people certainly like the cross-posting but for others it is undesirable. Therefore, I feel that the cross-post feature should be an option on the other platforms and not something mandatory.
These are my observations and thoughts about the Steemit platform. To recap,
- we should have a "Hide Post" option
- other platforms based on the Steem Blockchain should have some autonomy from Steemit.
