Our New kitten has arrived!
okay, so I have to say I am really thrilled about having this new kitten on the house. I have been eyeing on it since I first saw it and I knew I had to get it.
I love cats so much and I really see comfort whenever I am with one. I already have a female Persian cat named Jupiter. I have been trying to set her up for prospect mates but she just doesn't like being mated with another cat with a breed. I tried to mate her with a Siamese but she ended up fighting with him. She did the same with the Persian and Main Coon studs. She's kind of the queen of the house now.
So instead of waiting for her to get impregnated with the stray cats who visits her every now and then, I decided to buy another Persian cat, a male on this time. As I was scrolling down my feed, I saw this post about 3 Persian kittens being sold for USD 150. have been eyeing on it since I first saw it and I knew I had to get it. Here in the Philippines, Persian kittens are sold for USD 150-200 when their still in their 3rd to 6th month. I kinda feel jealous because in other countries, you can adopt them for free. or so i think.
Last Monday, April 23, I decided to finally bring in the new kitten. We named him Neptune. His color is jet black and his eyes are bluish green. At first he was very timid, but he did adjust very quickly especially that he is still a toddler. Neptune became acclimated very fast inside his room. *We kept him in a separate room at first as to not overwhelm the already dominant cat, Jupiter. We did is so both cats can adjust with each others' scents through the crease under the doors. We haven't let them see each other at first but I think we are getting positive results.
So three days have passed and we started introducing them visually. At first there were the expected hissing, but there were no aggression on Jupiter's part so at least it was a good start. Day by day we started to let them see each other more often and it was a complete success. They were very comfortable with each other and they started playing right there and then. It was a great relief knowing that the new kitten wouldn't get hurt by the already dominant cat in the house. They are already starting to know each other. I guess it helps that the kitten has nothing yet on his mind but food and play time. In that way Jupiter knows that he means no harm, and he is not a threat to her territory. Cats are very territorial but they can be very comforting and welcoming especially when they start to know you.
I don't see these cats as mere pets. They are a family. In some ways they protect me and the house. They give us comfort and affection in the most subtle way. Cats are very territorial, as I've already said. And it is a very nice feeling when my cats become very possessive of me. As if I am their human. and only theirs. :)
I hope you guys enjoyed my post.
Keep steeming.
See you around.
