What it does
In a nutshell, you allow @Steemads to insert a banner at the bottom of your 7-day ( or older ) blog / vlog / story etc post.

So you get exposure from posts that are older than 7-days. Allowing yourself to be marketed to the internet! Allowing you to still generate revenue from your older posts!

People are concerned about giving out their private posting keys
Totally understandable. This is just so the banner can be placed on your post. The creators are looking at creating some kind of whitelist regarding the keys.

Does anybody think that they are asking a lot, like email and private key. I don't know if they can do anything with that, but its a risk I'm not willing to take at the moment. Sign up should be easier IMHO.

I assume they are only asking for the private posting key? This would still mean your Steem/Steempower/SBD would be safe in the event that it somehow became public wouldn't it? It isn't possible to change the account password or transfer funds without the master key is it?
Correct.
I can understand you concerns but if someone has your private posting key all they can do is post, not transfer money or anything. I guess the worst case scenario is they could make some crazy posts on your blog but you could immediately regenerate new keys and lock them out. Posting key is a pretty small risk.

The concept is interesting. However some questions - usually am careful to handout my private keys to any new thing until I know more.
A question the great @cobalus was coming up - can we decide what ads are displayed on which posts? What ads will it be, which companies advertise, where do you get the ads from actually?
I have asked these questions to the creators. Awaiting feedback.

That's what I came to ask too.
I'm guessing it's automated, and the banner is added just before the edit window closes.
If so, that means there's no scope to remove an add you hate. It's there forever.
yeah the people placing the ads need to be pretty sure of what is going to be displayed going forward. Going to be interesting to see how it shakes out.
Super initiative. Way to incentivise people to write content that can stand on its own, and to share it in external channels also after the 7 days have passed.

Interesting concept but I don't know about handing out my Key, that is my main concern.
& that is a very valid concern.

I have no issue with anyone taking up with this offer. But personally, for me, one of the great attractions of steemit is the lack of annoying, and usually irrelevant, adverts popping up everywhere.
I do think post rewards should have more of a "long tail" - but not by adverts. Maybe by some mechanism of spreading post reward payments out over a much longer period (maybe 6 months) to encourage the creation of less ephemeral content.
