You People are so Petty and Tiny. This is for all the Whiners on Steemit.
Seriously, It Does Not Matter How Good the Platform is There Will Always Be Complainers.
It is so funny for me seeing the same people complaining again and again. My favorite book, "48 Laws of Power" outlines these situations very well.

“You can die from someone else’s misery — emotional states are as infectious as diseases. You may feel you are helping the drowning man but you are only precipitating your own disaster. The unfortunate sometimes draw misfortune on themselves; they will also draw it on you. Associate with the happy and fortunate instead.”
My Recommendations for Anyone Who Runs Into This Situation.
- Do not take sides. Be a Switzerland in this situation.
- Do not support those who would burn down the house.
- Support the people who are positive.
- If someone comes to you with complaints tell them they can go back to Facebook.
- Misery attracts misery, do you really want to be hanging out in those circles?
- Money makes people stupid. NEVER FORGET IT!
I love how you put whiners to its place... it really doesn't help newbies like me seeing those complaints. I have just been here in steemit for just over 24 hours, so I need to see some love and not whining. I love to grow my connections here so please follow @arnel Thank you all positive people! By the way upvoted and followed you @hilarski
Yup, I followed you earlier today. Keep up the good work. Post, engage, rinse and repeat.
Thank you, I appreciate it, looking forward to see and interact to more of your posts here in steemit.
Wise words good sir.
Truth. There will always be whiners and complainers. And they will want to know why YOU-- who have worked tirelessly for a year and have published the equivalent of a couple of books-- should have more benefits and rewards than they just got for posting "My cat just farted."
I prefer to just focus on what we can do-- individually, and collectively-- to educate people in the direction of wanting to be self-aware and personally accountable... rather than self-servingly sheepish.
Nailed it!
Personal accountability and progressive self-awareness are rare indeed. When you find those unicorns 🦄 keep them in your life for the rest of yours.
That being said, do you have a link to the cat farting clip?
😉
@scan0017 🤝
hmm.. in the short period I'm here I actually whittnessed the issue other way around. I don't really know what "whiners" OP is talking about, but I was shocked to see that some cat fart memes got more views and votes than serious topics and journalistic content. But hey, I'm not complaining... way to soon to do so anyway ;)
Dam Straight! This is what happens when people take sides on here.
DAMN!!!
LOL! If people spent more time on solving problems as opposed to complaining the world would be a better place. Like I always say: If you don't like it don't use it. If it bothers u change it.
Lmao. I laughed so hard on that one that my stomach is hurting 😂😂
Hey - the post I agree with. The passage you referenced from 48 Laws of Power is a good one. However, I can say I own that book and I never read the whole thing because halfway through it I felt like most of the practices were manipulative. Books like Think and Grow Rich are more my taste I suppose. To each their own, right? That mindset is my Switzerland. :-)
Reading and putting into practice are two different things. I agree not all the ideas are ethical pertaining to my life as well. This one in particular is awesome.
Yes, like I said - I agree.
not sure who is whinning. admittedly i didn't watch your vide0, was hoping you would write out what was on your mind, but i dont see the problem. Quite the opposite, i see euphoria with the recent price rise and alot more activity on the steemit community.
what are your views on global warming
abortion
and
child abuse?
I choose not to discuss things like that because they are polarizing.
First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.
Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.
This is what your comment looks like on this post.
.
AWESOME
good balance
You guys are funny.
REALLY...?
LOL- as you age I would imagine these sorts of stunts require some rigging? LOL
Great choice :D
Nice post which I mostly agree with. But, as some of the comments have mentioned here, I also want to see the world improve and sometimes that involves taking a stand against behavior which decreases wellbeing.
The "You People are so Petty and Tiny" video illustrates the point well. It's literally being said by a god. He's not in any way threatened by the status quo or the issues of mere mortals. Those who are high up Maslow's Hierarchy like you and I can rise above the petty quarrels of those on the bottom rungs. Most, unfortunately, aren't so lucky. Given the philosophical veil of ignorance and materialistic determinism, we could have been those unfortunates who get victimized. We'd want the "gods" to help us and not be neutral.
Now, given the context of Steemit, maybe all of that isn't really relevant here. No one is being physically harmed. Some are being mentally harmed (I've seen it many times) via verbal abuse and actions which intend to cause harm. Maybe not as serious as physical violence, but still concerning for those who are affected.
I must say, I commend your ability to stay neutral and rise above the pettiness (which I agree, makes up for most of the "drama" on Steemit). I'd also argue the world of the future is shaped by those who take a stand for what is philosophically ethical in defense of those who can't effectively defend themselves. Taking a stand may be costly on a personal level, but on the long enough timescale, it benefits everyone.
Well said Luke, no problem with taking a stand. This post was regarding Steemit only. I see the way people are treated and it is upsetting sometimes but I sit back and let it play itself out. It has been working out pretty well so far for the community.
It has for some, but not others. Early on, I tried helping some people who were being abused. That's before the mute function worked. I'm sensitive to those with mental health challenges because a lot of my colleagues in the software industry deal with it on a regular basis (thankfully, some of my friends are helping as well). It's difficult for those who don't feel the physical symptoms of mental oppression to fully understand. I certainly don't, but i'm working to listen better to those who do. Some people, I think, shouldn't be on social media or Steemit because they are not in a mental state to do so safely. We can't take responsibility for everyone, but I also think we should do what we can when we see injustice right in front of us. Sometimes it plays itself out well because of others taking action (and the negative consequences that often come with it).
#4 exactly. It sounded like you were describing facebook. Haha
I tend to be a giver, i help and support the people around me but there are some who are a lost cause, even how much pity i may have i know that investing my time/ energy on them will only drain me.
