The story of legend Nyi Roro Kidul originated from a beautiful-looking princess named Kadita. Because of her charming beauty, she is also dubbed Dewi Srengenge (the beautiful sun). Kadita's father was a king named Munding Wangi.

Having a beautiful child like Kadita, in fact did not make Munding Wangi happy. The reason, he did not want to have a daughter. Until finally, Munding Wangi remarried with the Goddess Pearl.
