What I believe needs to be fixed with steem right now!
I think steem as a platform for original content creator, who along with getting an audience for the particular genre/art, earn reputation( and eventually money ) out of it. The blockchain will have all the posts,comments and upvotes(even delete) as transactions making the tracking of the content-creator easy and fair. Moreover this will prevent plagiarism and pirated stuff being posted on the Steem.
The problem, what I see is, people sharing current prices of different cryptocurrencies without analysis or a story to it.
People publishing youtube videos, news articles almost as it is ( for exact articles will be caught by our Cheetah steembot). New thing I've seen recently is, people posting known stories and poems ( with proper attribution ) at regular interval ( every 30-60 minutes or so). And because they are creations of well-known authors, poets, they are obviously good and will get upvotes.
Just by the SP the OP gets, I think this will tempt minnows to repost someone's content than put their time in creating something new! Just a thought!

Exactly what I observed after joining steemit, ordinary people are exploiting the platform & those who know about it's technology are exploiting on further levels. It needs good solution.
I was going through writing section, where I saw some 4-5 poems from known authors in a row. All at some 10-15 minutes interval, most of them with > 50 cents. Whereas, there were some great short stories and some original poems not even reaching 2 cents. :(
Yes and because an upvote is actually paying money, people don't recognize the value.

It's a valid concern. I have only been here for a few hours and have noticed it. As a writer I was considering putting a short story on my blog. I will still do it, but more cautiously.
Just don't be demoralized if you don't get enough upvotes in first few days/month. Just don't go down that road. Otherwise, steem is a perfect platform for original artists. :)
