Bittrex reopens the registration of new users

Almost five months after the popular Bittrex exchange has suspended the registration of new accounts, this process is now resumed.

Simultaneously, Bittrex introduced an updated design of its site and trading platform, increasing their level of security, noted the company, based in Seattle.

According to Bill Shihara, CEO of Bittrex, the company was responsible for providing users with a “reliable platform with an excellent support service,” which is why it was decided to suspend the registration of new users.

About the suspension of registration of new accounts, the exchange reported in December last year against the background of rush demand in the market and record prices for many cryptocurrencies. This decision was preceded by numerous complaints from users for too long waiting for verification.

As noted in today’s statement, complete verification of the new account will also be required to complete the registration and use Bittrex, and users can only hope that this process will be faster and easier. Bittrex uses these procedures to increase security for all users and ensure that the company is adhering to important Know-Your-Customer rules.

The company also announced the expansion of the team, which now includes former employees of Amazon, as well as top-level talent from the Department of Justice, and the Department of Homeland Security.

Recall, in January, Bittrex issued new rules for new tokens listings on the exchange. In addition to technical information about the asset itself, its developers must also provide data on at least one team member. Also, Bittrex is now testing whether it is legal to host each specific token for trading in the United States. After this check, the specialized board reviews the features of the blockchain of presented cryptocurrency, its scope, the importance of the market and the reputation of the team.
