Dubai wants to connect the license plate on the internet of things. Instead of the metal license plate, digital screens should be attached to the cars. The digital screens have GPS and are connected to the IOT-Platform of the Emirates department of transport.

For that reason it should be understandable at any time, where the car is located. In case of an accident, the license plate will automatically inform the police and emergency services. Moreover it will sound an alarm, if the car is stolen.

What do you think about it? Should digital plates be introduced globally or would it be too much surveillance?
