Is Steemit voting broken?
I think Steemit voting is broken because casting a vote immediately brings you rewards, in proportion to your SP. Even more concerning is that a whale can simply vote on posts that already accumulated rewards and steal them, just because they have higher SP than everyone else who voted so far.
Instead of rewarding people to find the posts that are likely to become viral in the future, the current voting scheme rewards whales to find the posts that already went viral, and steal the rewards. At the same time, the minnows try to find posts that will go viral, but remain unnoticed by whales, so that they have a chance to reaping some rewards.
Steemit would be much better if one's voting reward depended only on the funds accumulated after their vote, and not on the votes before it. A vote did not cause any of the votes before it to happen -- why should one be rewarded for the past?
