Hello Folks,

new Users experienced an economical Problem on this Plattform in the last weeks, which resulted in their Upvotes being absolutely worthless.

This Problem in the Steem-Ecosystem could by the User only be solved by getting at least 17,50 Steem, either by deposit or work. (Feb. 2018)

My Recommendation for new Users:

If you Powered-Up less than 48,12 EUR* (70.74USD).

Stop Voting!

Ours Votes are wortless.**

**EDIT: Please consider, that @jedigeiss told me in the comments of the german POst about the non-monetary-Value of an upvote. New Users still make a minimal Difference in the Order of Comments or the Reputation-Level of another User.

Obviously, thats not the Intension of this Plattform. So how did this happened?

The Value of an Upvote has declined relative to the Amount of SP an User has due to an worse Exchange-Rate and recent inflation of Steempower.

The Reasons for this are to my Understanding an increase in SP in the Steem-Ecosystem because of:

• Many new Users on the Plattform
• The natural Inflation of Steempower

New Users start with 0,50 SP and an Delegation from the Plattform with the Goal to increase the Users SP to 15,00.
Thsi results in an Account having 0,50 (+14,50 SP) after registration.

The Goal of this Delegation was according to my knowledge to give new Users enought Bandwight and Votingpower to actively use and contribute to the Plattform.

The Delegation starts with 14,50 SP. If the User now gets Steem and does perform an Powerup the Delegation automaticly reduces at the same Rate so decrease the Users SP back to 15,00.

Due to this mechanic new Users are "trapped" at 15,00 SP untill they deposit or recieve more than that amount. The User can only get more than 15,00 SP after the whole Delegation is gone and he Powers Up more than that.

Where is the Problem now?

When i came to this Plattform about one Month ago, my Situation was the following:

I had 15,00 SP. With that i could ...

• with full Votingpower give 0,02$.

• with 95% - 70% Votingpower upvote with 0,01$.

• with less than 70% Votingpower my vote was worth 0,00$. To keep Voting was useless at this point untill my Votingpower regenerated.

So far - so good.

The Problem now is that the Value of SP declined further. This Decline made the 15,00 SP of an new User worthless, even with full Votingpower. The new Users was effectively locked out of participating in one of the Core-Mechanics of Steemit: Giving Value back to an Content-Creator.

How much Steempower is neccesarry now to participate in the Plattform?

The Claculator on https://SteemNow.com shows, that an User needs 18 SP now (Feb 2018) to give 0,01$ to an Content-Creator with his 100% Votingpower-Upvote.

I Assume than any active User would agree that to use the plattform at least your 75% Votingpover-Upvote should have some Value too.

How much Steempower is necassary for that now?

What is the Summary now?

As long as the Steem-Ecosystem works with this functions, any User needs at least 18 SP now. To use the Plattform "normally" he should have 25 SP.

The possible Solutions for an single User are:

• To use the Plattform 100 US-Dollar are required now. He could deposit them to be able to use the basic Features of this Plattform.

• New Users need another Delegation of at least 10 SP to be able to give Money with their Upvotes.

Solutions for an sustainable Steem-Ecosystem:

• The Delegation-Amount to new Users shouldn't be a fixed Value of 15 SP. There has to be an function like the one on https://SteemNow.com to calculate how much SP is needed to accually use the plattform.

• The Delegation could decline in another relation than 1:1 to the Powerups, for example 1:2 / 1:3 / 1:4.
An User that starts with 25 SP and Powers Up 10 SP would lose only 5 SP in Delegation an has than 30 SP as an result. The last Delegation will not leave before 50 SP.
An mechanic like this would value the Deposits or the Work of the User from the first day, and not only after he have earned the 15,00 SP from the Start.
