Number of Bitcoin Traders Immediate Exceed Investor in BEI
Bitcoin.co's digital currency buying and selling platform, the id soon has 1.5 million users in the near future, or exceeds the number of investors on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) which currently stands at 1.18 million investors.
It was said Chief Executive Officer of Bitcoin.co.id Oscar Darmawan, as quoted from Bloomberg. Bitcoin.co.id platform itself began to open in 2014 ago and currently has 1.14 million investors.
In Bitcoin.co.id not only trade the bitcoin digital currency only, but also other digital currencies such as ethereum and ripple.
"About 3,000 new members join each day, mostly trading bitcoins even though ethereum transactions are also increasing," Oscar Darmawan said.
Bank Indonesia (BI) itself has not banned the trading of digital currency or crypto currency, but BI itself has been warned of the danger of trading this crypto currency and prohibit it to be transacted as a medium of exchange.
Bitcoin.co.id itself targets the trading volume of crypto currency to increase from Rp 100 billion per day to twice daily.
As a comparison based on data of PT Kustodian Sentral Efek Indonesia (KSEI), daily transactions of BEI reached 550 million dollars in 2017 or approximately Rp 7.59 trillion per day (exchange rate of Rp 13,800).

But unfortunately most of the economies are unsure whether to adopt cryptocurrencies or not.
