The ProVenezuela Journey: Our History

They are already a couple of months since this initiative began its march, and although not everything has been easy, is a way that is worth to cross. I invite you to know our adventure.

The beginning

Our project started simply as a somewhat utopian idea that started to make a nest in my head, one day, I decided to write a series of articles about how a country like ours could change for the better if, somehow, we decided to adopt blockchain technology in Different areas. The first article was titled: "Project Venezuela: A utopian task" (Proyecto Venezuela: Una tarea utópica). That article had a massive acceptance, from there I realized that the task was not so utopian after all.

Something that began as a crazy idea thrown to the air, now seemed that it was worthy to dedicate effort and time. Little by little came people who were extremely interested and willing to put their grain of sand.

At the moment I remember @rach, who started with a couple of articles and recommendations, plus he helped me open the @provenezuela account.

Also @ienrikex and @jocra were fundamental, as they helped me draft the White Paper of the project and now @jocra serves as one of the main drivers of our initiative.

To all, thank you

How do we organize?

As established in our White Paper, we work under a concept of decentralized organization that we will gradually automate as long as human resources, as well as materials, allow us. With a horizontal structure, @jocra, @gabystories and I shared different tasks.

@jocra works curing Venezuelan content, responding to comments, designing some contests and writing guides and basic material to educate Venezuelan users about the blockchain.

@gabystories, although he also participates in writing content relevant to provenezuela, his specialty is to take charge of our Social Media strategy.

I, like them, participate in almost everything, especially trying to achieve the objectives we set out in our White Paper in time.

We meet weekly by videoconference, discuss the ideas and proposals and choose the ones that we think best.

We recently joined to the SocialMedia Team @karenulloa93. We have also had invited Venezuelan authors in our blog.

It is good to clarify that everyone receives a weekly reward of 10 SBD as they devote a lot of time to the project. No one gets more than another, unless a special task is determined that requires much more time and effort.

RetoVenezuela (VenezuelanChallenge), our first child

The success of our challenges can be summarized in the fact that, in the last two events, we have participated in over 100 users, the previous challenge has reached more than 150 entries and the last one has already passed 100 entries.

We have distributed more than 150 SBD in prizes in approximately one month of work and the payments of the post published under the retovenezuela tag surpass the 4000 $ (unfortunately I did not keep track of the payment figures under the tag retovenezuela).

However, the most outstanding result is that the Venezuelan community has grown and become very cohesive, becoming a group that constantly helps and supports each other.

Is not it great?

"A day in the life of a Venezuelan", a challenge that marked the community

I still remember my first conversations with @tellabelle, although they were short she projected this intense energy from those who have the strange need to help others.

She is the first English-speaking user I met who was taking initiatives to favor the Venezuelan community and it was who motivated us to carry out this challenge to show the world what a Venezuelan lives in one of his days.

Unprecedented Visibility

The acceptance and visibility of the articles were unprecedented, beyond the borders of our language (Spanish) and allowed us to meet people interested in supporting us as @cryptohustlin, @ausbitbank, @aggroed, @chitty and other amazing users that i don't remember right now.

Okay, and what's the data?

I have already used these same data in other opportunities, anyway it is not enough to repeat them a little :)

It is difficult for us to know exactly how many Venezuelans there are, especially because dozens of new users arrive every day. A few weeks ago we launched a survey to the community we only had active one week approximately, and we managed to register 92 people. Of course this number is well below, even by the time the survey was conducted.

Data from 26/01/17

Data from june 6th of this year, before @provenezuela

After a month of hard work, and of course with the incredible help of other media much more established than ours (@cervantes), we were able to give some visibility to the content made in our country.

After one month of hard work

More recently, we see how the picture continues to improve a lot. There is still a lot to do, but the road has already been opened.

enter image description here

This speaks for itself

What are we doing now?

At the moment we are still preparing to launch a mass advertising campaign directed and specially designed for the Venezuelan public, we hope to reach millions of our brothers, not only to register at Steemit and start earning a little extra money a month , but to begin teaching them about this incredible world of Blockchain.

We are also working on our website, which will help us to show much more clearly the work we are doing to everyone.

Another thing that we are working hard at is to consolidate a curation project to promote better rewards for the quality content of our authors and thus increase their influence on the platform with STEEM POWER that they win. This in the future will make us a self-sustaining community capable of helping others.

enter image description here

Our curation project is just born

You can join us!

We know that there is no obligation on the part of anyone in this community to help us, but I also know the great vocation of solidarity that the majority here has.

We want to contribute to the growth of Steem from this corner of the world, we do not come to ask for money, but to request their support temporarily, until we manage to grow and give back to the beautiful people of Steem at least a little of those who have given us .

We will continue to work hard, and if anything has made it very clear to us this community is that we are not alone.

Thanks!

P.D: All SBDs collected by this article will be donated to the account @provenezuela.
