Is steemit killing anyone else's images?

in #steemit8 years ago

I've been having a problem lately where steemit will randomly break img links when I put them in using the little image button thing.  I've looked at the Raw HTML and what it seems to do is that when you actually post the story, it sometimes removes the "HTTP:" from some of the links.

I have no idea why it does this, but it does it consistently, and it always does the same thing. Am I doing something wrong? Is there something weird with the steemit image thing where it attempts to shorten the image address and ends up breaking it?  Just asking because I'd like to stop fixing dead links.

No, i don't have that problem, just put the link and voila

Yes. I discovered it does this if you are writing as HTML, not markdown. I think it is a bug in the HTML editor as it is now.

If you use Markdown, try just dropping the link, no <img> tag

I use www.steem.img to host my images and then I just copy the image link url into my post and check it in the preview panel below to make sure it is displaying correctly. Good luck
