Steemit Coin Under Maintenance

Whatever it means by countries being under maintenance is news to me. Am a #newbie and new to #steem, #steemit and #steemdollar respectively. There is rumour that steemit has been sold and the new owner is making changes. I do believe.

I was in #blocktrades and wanted to add some steemit to my steemit #account. I shied away when I saw the steemit being under maintenance. I thought I will lose and stopped. Did I make a wise decision?

Maybe @blocktrades will be in a better position to answer this. #Crybtocurrency is a technical subject and one needs to understand all the #blockchain jargons. Maybe #exchange companies can assist. Is it safe to #trade in steemit?
