RE: Point Me to the Complaints Department: Things that Annoy me on Steemit
Shut you up - not a chance .!.!.! Scream from the rooftops brother. The fact is, it is almost impossible to sort through all of the spam in order to get to good quality content. I have read several posts that were well researched, well structured, and professionally written, only to receive very few upvotes and disappear into the noise - on the other side of that coin (pun intended), I open a post that has a well written title only to find the article is horribly bad / some flat out unreadable, but has made $65 in rewards. I believe we could partially solve this by first, limiting the use of the bots, and second by making the curation rewards a higher percentage of the overall pot than what is currently allocated - because right now there is very little incentive for anyone to spend time sorting through it all and actually curating... Great post - will be watching for your next one...
Thanks for your thoughts :) Some are part of collectivites that seem to just vote for their own without bothering to read the articles.
Limiting the use of bots might help but I wonder if the majority of curators who collect various posts use bots to collect information about prospective users to create their articles - those articles do help new users achieve exposure so maybe bots should only be used under certain circumstances and not entirely for personal gain. Go figure that this post gave me more attention than my other post about photography haha :)
