Save The Date: STEEM Integration With SNAX Announced For May 14th!
As you (probably) already know, I suport a blockchain project aiming at rewarding social media content without rebuilding your audience in a new network, which is called SNAX.
The project is up and running for more than a month now - tracking and rewarding Twitter accounts - and I'm happy to let you know that things are advancing fast. After integrating Twitter, as a main use case for the utility token of the blockchain (named, surprise-surprise, SNAX!) the team is moving fast towards integrating Steem with it. As a matter of fact, the integration was announced to go live on May 14th.
How does this work?
In short, you will have to pair your Steem account with a SNAX account and from now on you will be eligible for receiving SNAX on top of your Steem rewards. The rewards are allocated every two days, by a mechanism called "scoring round". Which means the Steem content for the last day is scrapped, analyzed and ranked according to SNAX's algorithm (which you may study on their white paper, if you want) and then the rewards are allocated based on the ranking.
What you can do with SNAX?
Pretty much everything you could do with STEEM in the very early days of Steemit. Which is not much, now. But, bearing in mind that SNAX is actually an EOS fork, and building dApps (or smart contracts) on the EOS blockchain is way more feasible than on Steem, then you could expect to see more use cases with the SNAX token as time goes by, and as adoption increases.

What to do now?
Other than saving the date and watching my feed for more posts as we are approaching the launch day, not much. You can of course educate yourself and be sure you make an informed decision, but, for now, let's just keep an eye on the SNAX blockchain.

Good to see you back and posting again after several days traveling, I presume.
Thanks for the heads up. I've been waiting for this type of announcement, and now there's a countdown to look forward to. This might actually be the way I get into EOS (right?), without needing to do anything else but do what I'm doing now (post-wise).
What's the pairing of the accounts going to be like? Will we need to have an account first on SNAX, or will it just automatically do that when we give them our username here? Probably need to have an account there first is my guess.
The pairing will go just like on Twitter: you will have to pair your Steemit username with a SNAX account. SNAX is NOT EOS, it's a fork of EOS, but pretty much everything on it works as in EOS. Looking forward to see you active in it :)
snax is not listed on coinmarketcap at the moment, thoughts ?
Snax launched mainnet on April 10 and is not yet listed on exchanges, but we are negotiating and working on it.

I signed up to link my twitter with the expectation of steem coming soon so its good to see it happening. I need to read more into the project and see what the long term plans are and what's the best way to use it in the future.

It is great but I want to ask, is it only linked to twitter, can't Facebook account be connected also
Only Twitter for now, I don't know abut any plans to connect Facebook,and given the complexity of scrapping FB content, I doubt there will be an integration soon.
Well this is probably the best thing I've heard about in awhile. I'm definitely going to check it out. I’m curious what you think about meOS, the social media platform that is likely to come out on the EOS network in June?
