MENTAL MATHS

MENTAL MATHS in my own little terms should be defined as an analytical method of solving maths problems without the use of a calculator..

Most times i tend to wonder if some persons were given adequate mathematical training in high school while others were not..with myself been a typical example of the later

Based on the understanding that most students have an unusual fear for mathematics and with the fact that their fear instigate them to do poorly in their test is one thing to worry about...

Taking out your precious time as students imply to work out some maths problems without getting to the rightful answers is quite frustrating then your inability to go over a maths problem can also be so challenging....

Now my little problem that gives me much worry is

1. How come our teachers never taught us what to do and how to go about it...
2. were our teachers even enlightened on how to administer maths classes to we their students
3. Did our teachers lack the analytical skills of deploying this techniques to we their students..

It burgs me most because your inability to compete fervently with your age group is what gives me the biggest challenge...why because i don't want to be a failure ...

Still not withstanding MENTAL MATHS has been of good use since its inception of this idea when handling mathematical problems

With good knowledge and use of mental maths one can save much time without looking for a calculator while trying to do sums

It improves skills of result estimation as an individual

Also brings up an unusual believe in you by co workers or students for been highly intelligent...

In a nut shell ones ability to use it (mental maths ) effectively would be of great effect in our schools so our maths teachers should also have seminars to improve their level of use of mental maths and various manipulations should be given to their pupils on how to handle such arithmetics situations.

Constant practise should be ensured to enable students become conversant with this tricks..

So my maths teachers in high school all owe me an explanation..
