Excellent-- and thanks for sharing this bit of history!
I would guess people are forgetting that it's typical of ANY startup that some of the early adopters and investors realize they have become pretty wealthy, and they shift their attention from "the project" to "spending the rest of my days on a beach in Aruba." It's an easy thing to forget that this is part of the normal development cycle of companies.
I am here because I really like this type of "social blogging" and see Steemit as having a lot of potential. We do need to build a few "somethings" that makes this even more attractive to investors so they'll simply buy Steem without necessarily being bloggers.
All companies have some sort of growing pains... hopefully HF17 will address some of the concerns that have been circulating recently.
