RE: Julian Assange is looking for a decentralised / cryptographic alternative to Twitter. In true Stephen Kendal style, I suggested he took a look at Steemit. What about a WikiLeaks Coin?
Great work. Some of the Twitter replies are annoying. For most people it is hard to understand the way that Steem is censorship resistant because they're so stuck in the mindset of using a specific website. It has to be remembered that Steemit.com is just one client for the Steem network. The resistance to censorship comes from your ability to choose your own client. Twitter commenters act like the whole system is dependent on Steemit.com, when the whole point of Steem is that it's not.

Nailed it. Some of the comments on twitter critising the idea simply have no idea how Steemit, Steem and Smart Media Tokens will stitch together. This will change Social Media way beyond the imagination of even the smartest of people on the planet. This is a multiple billion dollar untapped market riped to be picked. Thanks for the support. Stephen
Exactly, I pointed out that other frontends can and have been built, and as @stephenkendal points out SMT will open up a whole new set of options for utilizing the decentralized unstoppable STEEM blockchain.
