100% power up option pays you less then 50/50 option. Think before you choose.
Some people started noticing that payouts aren't equal on 100% payout and 50/50 payouts.
100% power up means that when you choose this option all reward you have earned from that post goes to steem power.
Let's assume you post earned $110. Your share was $100 dollars rest $10 dollars went to curators. That mean's you receive roughly 40 steem power if 1 steem current price is $2,5.
50/50 options means that when you choose this option 50% paid out in steem power and another 50% paid out in steem dollars.
Same scenario let's assume you post earned $110. Your share was $100 dollars rest $10 dollars went to curators. That mean's you receive roughly $50 dollars worth of steem power so if 1 steem is $2,5 you receive roughly 20 steem power. the other $50 paid in steem dollars.
Now this is where it gets tricky and that's why you should select 50/50 payout.
$50 dollars paid in steem dollars, but at them moment steemit states that 1 steem dollar is worth aroud $1.
And they are using this formula, but we all know that after tremendous bitcoin price jump steem dollar is worth way more then that is about $2.
Receiving your steem dollars currently you are doubling the amount paid in steem dollars by selling it in the market for $2.

Thank you
I just did the math on some of my payout.
From what I see and understand, it would make more sense to do steem power up 💯 %
Vs 50/50
When I sell the SBD on the internal market, i get much less Strm/Steem power after the conversion vs if I had gotten 💯 % steem power from the start.
Just my observations.
No 100% power up currently pays u less then 50/50 but its going to get fixed soon i suppose.
If it is 50/50... And I can calculate the 50% of SP to dollars. Then take the other 50% that is SBD and valuate it in USD as well and it is less.
Try to sell the SBD for STEEM and you have less STEEM/STEEM Power than the other 50% not due to arbitage from the trade. But because the SBD half was less.
The SBD half is valuated in SBD and not STEEM which is valued less than Steem this last week . From what I can tell, I just did the math on a payout and I believe you do experience a significant lose with SBD 50/50 option.
Ok what i am saying according to the current steemit payout calculation you get double amount of SBD then you actually should. Not saying that you are wrong in your case its might be better for you to power up.
Full Steem ahead! And one more advice: people will consider you somehow greedy when you put 100% because it's not fair to the curators and people that voted up your post. I too believe that 2$ is a minor price for Steem's potential but one step at a time. It will grow more with the upcoming Steem projects as Zappl and the others. Good info! Upvoted! :)
How does the payout rate of the poster impact the value of the content to the curators? This makes no sense to me, and I'd appreciate being able to make sense of it.
According to the original post you are replying to, the curators received the same amount either way.
Interesting, I wonder if they'll rebalance the equation. Given how volatile it's been as of late it might be hard to keep it stable. Great post.
The hardfork is going to happen very soon. i bet its going to be adjusted then.
The 50/50 payout option is better if you are trying to maximize powering up when the SBD/STEEM ratio is below 1. The problem is forecasting if that is going to be the case 7 days after you write a post.
Conversely when the SBD/STEEM ratio is above 1 like it is now, then the 100% option will maximize your STEEM Power for your post.
The 100% option doesn't give you the opportunity to weasel out of powering up if the post blows up and gets hooked by a whale.
The 50/50 option when STEEM is more than $1USD is the best option if you are going to convert out to USD's upon payout. That's going to pretty much be the case going forward.
yup that's exactly it. What i believe will be changed into payout on the current exchange rate, the it should all get back to normal.
If you aren't going to exchange for USD, then is the 50/50 option still more emunerative?
