Steemit Defense League // An FYI
Steemit is nothing if not exciting. The latest drama involves a fellow who became disillusioned and angry at Steemit and so decided to start flagging... well, pretty much everyone. He made 70+ accounts, at least a few of them bought from Microworkers (read more about that in @pirateofthedtube's account here), and has been going on a flagging spree. Weeeeeee.
@guiltyparties has a great overview of the situation. Read that here. He also links to a spreadsheet listing all the flagging accounts. If you are randomly flagged for no good reason that you can see, check the list and see if the name is in it.
I was flagged a few days about by "crigmarlo" who I see has already been caught and added to the list. I was just flagged today by "treedain" who has also been added to the list and "gladiatorwork" who is not on the list yet and should be added.
@themarkymark is also on the case and has a good post about the situation here.
@berniesanders is on the case too.
I know that is a lot of reading, but we should all be aware of this situation. I wasn't affected by any of those 3 downvotes, but smaller accounts might be. If you come across any smaller accounts thus affected, you might throw some upvotes their way to help them out.

Yeah me too. I don't know what he's really expecting to accomplish beyond annoying people. But he's angry and angry people aren't known for thinking straight.
Ah, so that's what's going on. I've seen a couple random downvotes come in the last few days and was wondering why. Wasn't sweating about it too much in the first place, though it still feels better to know I can chalk it up to pure randomness.

ETA: Does the #japanese community know about this yet? That @guiltyparties post invites us to translate it, and I just might do so, but like all my other Japanese posts it would take several hours and probably still be an illegible mess at the end.
Hmm.. you know I don't know. I haven't seen any posts about it in the Japanese posts floating by on my dashboard. If you are willing to do so on the translation, I'd say go for it
