That last paragraph you stated was important, not everyone will be fixed within these categories permanently because as you correctly stated, it may be a function of financial status.
I also think that most people on steem will fall between beneficiary and idealist because, firstly, in my opinion most people like the idea of getting paid and secondly, the majority of persons on steem are excited about or know of the blockchain/distributed ledger technology revolution that will change the world...
so why not support the technology and also make some cash on the side?
