Haejin just knocked down my reputation by five points

in #steemit7 years ago

So today I came across this post by @berniesanders and I was kind of annoyed that he was not really contributing a lot of content, but still getting rewarded pretty highly for what he was doing. So I made this comment where I was hoping to put things in terms that would be well received. @berniesanders always complains about @haejin posting multiple short posts a day and getting lots of rewards, but I've seen him post nothing but a middle finger and get hundreds.

But then after making that comment, my last two posts lost all their rewards and my reputation dropped five points. Can you guess who the culprit was? I guess now I know how @themarkymark and @tuck-fheman feel, not nearly to the same extent though. This kind of shit is not good for Steemit. I'm not a big time poster or anything, but it's just disappointing to see this stuff happen.

I hope @haejin forgets about me and goes back to doing what he does best instead of carefully watching for anyone to say something negative about him and I hope @berniesanders quits with all the negativity and hypocrisy. But even more importantly, I hope that minnows like me don't need to watch what they say from fear of getting smacked down into oblivion.

I see nothing wrong with your comment. This is insane. Isn't it bullying?

It's just the reality we live in on Steemit I guess. Something to keep in mind.

I suppose. It's not going to stop me from posting what I want to post. I naturally tend to keep away from those types of people. I wouldn't want someone downvoting a post of mine just because they disagree or don't like my content. I share, people share in return. When people disagree or when I disagree, we've always been able to express it respectfully. I don't know why that person couldn't just tell you if he took offense to your comment.

Personally, even if it's tough sometimes, I prefer to tell someone, the way they said something triggered me, or I didn't like something, or maybe I'm misunderstanding because it makes me feel such and such a way. Then they can clarify or we can figure things out, or I can discover a trigger point that needs healing, or we discover we really don't like each other and respectfully part ways. It's better that way than a passive approach.

Well said, unfortunately this guy uses his wallet instead of words. It's a good reminder though that Steemit rewards are entirely subjective and based on the amount of money in each person's account. It doesn't make any difference who is right and who is wrong, just who has the most money. The only way to sanity is enough people with enough money to act in good faith.
