Is it good to use voting bots?

in #steemit7 years ago

Ironically, I’m using the last of my Steam Dollars to promote this post through minnowbooster and booster. Look, I’m a new guy trying to get started on the platform. From where I’ve heard, using bot boosters with a little bit of spare cash is the best way to promote your content out of the get go.

A lot of people, however, seem to frown on it. It seems with or without voting bots, my content isn’t really seeing the light of day. It only reaches a dollar value with voting bots. Otherwise, I only get a few up votes per post and maybe 50 cents+. I know, I’m new, but I haven’t seen quite a benefit yet from the conventional voting bots I’ve found.

Do you think they’re good for the platform as a whole? Should new Steemiters use voting bots? I’m genuinely curious to see what you guys think. Drop a post below and lets get a conversation going about this.

Hey, I'm Oatmeal Joey, and bots are tools and they are what they are and we can do our best to make the most of it as we are jacked up in the MATRIX so to speak and TVS and phones are watching us with built-in screen cameras from the inside part of the actual screen itself and do we want them and Gates to watch us and to go after us as humans on earth and what else are they doing and do we talk about it and do we care or what?

dude what lmao

Check out steembottracker.com and use the smartmarket promotion service, works really well.

Also I recommend reading my post of earlier tonight on how to get more followers, as your network expands you will probably get more upvotes!

Just read your article and checked out the website. Bookmarked it and am definitely going to use it as a reference. Thanks man!

Outlook not so good

Hi! I'm a bot, and this answer was posted automatically. Check this post out for more information.

if you got the SBD then do it. I do. Have a look at some of the dolphins wallets you'll see that they also use the boosters almost on every posts.

As you stated I do believe it is really helpful for minnows to get some exposure since many people only read posts with "some bucks on them". On the other side I really would be in favor of a max. amount (in $ lets say 50) on upvote through a bot on a single post. Whales easily buy them 2-3 30 SBD upvotes resulting in $150 upvotes and then trending and or hot. Again on the other side there richness doesn't come from nothing so why shouldn't they have the same right no matter how rich they are.
Real difficult topic in my opinion.

So I'll caveat my reply by mentioning that I too am new, so it's a bit of the blind leading the blind, but here are my thoughts. One consistent theme I've been reading is that getting started you shouldn't be too focused on the money earned. The most successful users didn't achieve their success out the gates. They blogged, they gained experience, they learned and contributed to the platform in a meaningful way. Although using bots is not prohibited, per se, to me it's gaming the system and in the long run, probably not the best way to achieve real success. Forget about the money, and the money will come. Just focus on posting about things that interest you, and read/follow users that post content that's interesting to you. The more you read/follow, the better you'll get at making your own posts and with enough perseverance, you'll find your success. Just my two cents!
