RE: Quit Facebook for Steemit?
Sorta. Here's the thing... you can't let the perfect get in the way of the good. As far as I'm aware, there's no system that's been invented that's censorship-proof. So despite Steem's flaws it's hard for me to criticise it when it's miles ahead of almost any other system on that front.
Here's something to think about though: If this new hardfork 20 fails, which I think it will, because now it's only the whales, which isn't going to be sustainable, if the Steem goes to zero, the server will have to shut down, and then all the content goes with it... so it isn't forever, and is more centralized than you think.
What do you mean "it's only the whales"?
It's extremely unlikely that Steem will go to zero. There are a bunch of witnesses for Steemit, so the data is distributed. Even if Steem did go to zero, the data wouldn't necessarily disappear.
People will maintain the system for free?
I don't know if they would, but even if it goes to zero that doesn't necessarily mean they'd be doing it for free - maybe just that they'd be deferring their gains. I do find it strange that's the part of my comment you want to focus on. Steem is top 3 in blockchains when it comes to use, and you're here talking about scenarios where it goes to zero and drilling down on it.
It really sounds like you're trolling, and I won't be responding further. Good luck on Steemit.
The Alexa rate has been dropping and dropping, and for a social platform that is 2 and half years old, its growth rate is abysmal, and compared to any other successful social platform, it isn't even in the same ball park as far as active users are concerned... what say you?
