Does RESTEEMING Really Make A Difference?

in #steemit8 years ago

So, quite a few people have "resteemed" some of my posts, and I am grateful. The question however is "does it really help all that much?" I suppose if someone is up to level 74 the impact on resteeming would be much greater (more subscribers to give a thumbs up). I'm still not to sure about the resteeming initiative. For instance on one of my posts 2 people resteemed my article and the paid out was only another few cents. My advice... Make some friends on Steemit with very high levels. More opportunity to get more votes up. Good Luck.
Another question I have, does it count against you when you resteem a lot of posts? Tell me your thoughts and stories about resteeming.background.jpg

Life is Good, take hold and go for it.

I used to do almost no re-steeming. My main goal is for people visiting my blog to read what I write, not what other people write.

However, I've been doing more re-steeming lately. Some articles are just too good not to share with my followers. When I re-steem a good article, it helps my followers who otherwise may not have seen it.

It also helps reward the author. If my followers see and vote for the article, the value goes up. Re-steeming is a kindness, particularly to minnows.

😄😇😄

@creatr

Thank you for sharing valuable insight. It's really helpful especially for beginners like me.

great words ©creatr! You earn my follow, up vote and resteem :)

Yes awesome way of putting resteeming, earned my following also!

Thanks for the reply. This helps.

thanks for your advice :)

Thanks much for the post sandara

sorry i cannot upvote right now because my steempower is too low 3 days make it full..promise i vote for you as soon as i can !!!

@twinner recently resteemed one of my posts and it made a big difference. Established steemers who are selective with resteems are probably the key.

This does make sense. Thanks.

@crowe - That's one big question in my head. I think it does make a difference to creating more "brownie points" but I'm yet to try and find out!

Thanks for the post. I'm learning as I go too. Cheers.

It works and let us see what change you get from me resteeming this post. Maybe nothing changes, but I'm betting it you will get a few upvotes from strangers. @crowe, Steem On!

I'm a follower of @runridefly , and now I'm upvoting this post. Imagine that :)

Thanks runridefly. I appreciate the resteem on this post. I'll be anxious to see the results. Cheers, and thanks again.

Second that one! :)

You are going to be able to know if reesteem works 'cause you are going to be resteemed a lot!!!

We will see. That would be interesting to see the stats if this was resteemed a lot? Thanks. I am following your blog now. Cheers.

@crowe , resteem❤ is sharing works of others to your followers if you wanna support their work. I do it when i see creative posts which are still undervalued. While curators often upvote and resteem posts to increase the payout so that it would earn them a handsome curation reward..

Ah, that is where curation rewards come from. I see. Thanks.

that makes sense. but how much does really a curator get the share?

Depends on the SP the curator has.. The more voting power the curator has during voting and voting weightage he uses the more he earns curation reward if the post goes really well.. I've seen curators (whales and dolphins) earning more than 2k sp in a week just by curating posts.

isn' t it a win2 solution for dolphin and whales, they help others to get better payment, and they get more SP in return?

but of course on a good post.

@ekavieka They are helping the minnows a lot. It's because of them ,most of the time minnows get what they expect from a post to their satisfaction.. Hahaha. Win2 situation is because most of them have invested in SP, so curation reward for them is like interest of that SP. So, I'm never jealous lol

hehehe yes they are. i forget that part. LOL
thank you so much for your explaination. that answer alot.

You're very welcome ;)

Resteeming can make a difference, mostly for the original poster. A resteem reaches a new (at least partly) group of followers, so the post is wider and longer visible. For the resteemer it gains not all that much, from my experience.
I dont mind if people resteem, if its done from honest interest. Only if I see people who resteem lots of high upvote posts, because they think they can participate on the high payout, I find it a little cheap.

Well said .... if it's done from honest interest ......

This has been my experience as well. When I see people resteeming 20 posts in a row It makes me wonder why? I'll simply try and focus mainly on my posts. Cheers.

I have resteemed a few times and I am not sure of the effect it has on me. I do not see the advantage of resteeming and would appreciate it if anyone could let me know what they are?
Thanks

When you resteem, you are putting that article on the wall of all your followers. So new people see the article with more possible upvotes. If more people upvote, the payout pie gets bigger, therefore, your slice of the pie becomes larger. Hope that helps.

Yes the pie gets bigger but more people get a part of it so does my share get that much bigger?

I 2nd that motion. Here Here. Cheers.

WOW! I wish it was at the $72 range. I'm still unsure how posts are judged? Thanks screenname.
