RE: Leaving? Steemit is not Facebook, We Don't Need a Long Drawn Explanation. Just Leave.

in #steemit8 years ago

YOU don't want a long drawn out explanation...others would like to know why authors they like to read are leaving. Like me. I am leaving as well. Personal reasons and because crypto is no longer in my future plans.
I even decided to leave the $12 worth of Steem in the account if no one wanted to buy it...
Being rude to folks about telling others why they are leaving is silly to me. You have a right to do whatever you want, and so do they.
You got the interaction you wanted by writing this post.
Good for you...

Take care then. Bye bye.

For those sticking around to read this though:

I am not being rude to anyone leaving - did I name ANY names in my article? Kind of hard to be rude to people that are simply throwing a temper tantrum because they are not getting $10+ anymore on B.S. meme shares or "I had eggs for breakfast - who likes eggs?" style posts. Those people are being rude to everyone else that is here on Steemit trying to make a better than Facebook and Twitter experience. I won't apologize for not giving two rats behinds about those types of posts - I don't read them nor do I upvote them. Others want to foster that crap then fine, foster it but don't act surprised when those authors leave when they start losing responses they wanted, or were used to getting.

I am not begging anyone to stay here on Steemit, just simply pointing out my thoughts on the myriad of people posting crying fests over lack of earnings from articles or curation efforts. It takes time to get things back up to where they "should" be.

No interaction wanted. I write because I want to, not for reaction from others. If I did that, I would not bother writing original content, instead I would be writing about how I am threatening to leave Steemit because people are not commenting on my articles, they are not upvoting my stuff. As you can see, I am not doing that so you make a mute point there at the end. Thought it is a nice backhanded compliment attempt. Good job but you need to polish your insults a bit.

I agree that it is nonsense folks get lots of money on stupid posts, and that 0 effort went into it.
I get it.
I post spiritual things as often as i am able.
No insults.
Nothing backhanded. I tell it like it is.
Sure you can, and did, write a great article about crybabies.
You got the interaction you wanted.
That is called responses.
Good for you...
You did well.
I decided to tell you I thought you were trying to discredit folks who wanted out because they wrote a post about leaving.
Yes, some are looking for others, like in facebook, to say, "please stay!"
But I am leaving because crypto in my off grid life will be tough.
Just saying dont try to discredit folks who post goodbye posts...
Not all are about sympathy.
I want my audience to know why I am leaving.
Sincerely, with all respect, thank you for the interaction.

As I mentioned in the original article, I only have a problem with the ones that simply post one sentence goodbyes and the like. Those are simply hurtful to the whole site.

What do you think new members think when they come here and they only see post after post from crybabies saying they are leaving, screw Steemit and other colorful single sentence goodbyes? It gives the impression that Steemit sucks, that is what it does.

If you are not one of the many that simply post one sentence articles like that, but give actual information on why you are leaving then I don't have a problem with you. I appreciate those that are leaving and leave a bit of information as to why. Such as in your case, crypto is no longer in your financial plans. I get that. I can respect that a lot more than 'screw Steemit I am out.' like so many members have taken to posting.

We seem to be on similar pages as to Steemit itself, just a slight misunderstanding of how we got there.
