Dan left Steem expressly to create a competitor to Steem and is advertising it with a supposed “inside track” to the future here on our platform while acting like he is no competitor. And whether he leaves the platform for good today or 6 months from now to join his Steem-competitor depends on if we choose to see through his intentions and care. It’s possible I am making the mistake of caring. It’s hard to really say until these platforms have existed for a while 10 months from now. I would prefer to ship our tokenization platform, Smart Media Tokens (SMTs), which outcompetes any version eos can string together, and get moving without Dan clouding the marketplace. He asked me for the same months ago. This is reasonable and all business. I vastly prefer Steem and SMTs.

More info on Smart Media Tokens (SMTs) at https://SMT.steem.io

Ok Ned but the other day you defended Cardano which is an EOS competitor. So if Steem is also an EOS competitor then you defended other competition over EOS.. Why pick and choose which platforms arent allowed to advertise on decentralized social media? I have seen SmartCash on here advertising. Do you not want peer plays and bitshares to post here? Couldnt someone make an SMT that directily competes with them? So should you kick them both off the platform? It just seems like a slippery slope you are trying to pick and choose from who to censor on censorship resistant social media. I hope you learn from the backfire. Even many witnesses were disgusted by your actions.

You act like competition is horrible. This is a free market. and I believe most users of this platform encourage free markets and healthy competition. I WANT A STEEM COMPETITOR, and so should you unless you want this place to be Myspace next year. Its never the case that THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE social media site. THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE BOOK STORE. THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE GAS STATION! Do you see how dumb this argument is? So why are you trying to kill competition? It makes you look weak and scared.

This is a social Media site. Dan has a right to use a social media site like any other person. If he talks about his work and what hes doing and people are interested, that shit has NOTHING to do with you Ned. Mute him if you want. Don't fling shit at eachother in front of the whole community.

Its of my personal opinion that you poked the bear.. and 2 weeks ago Steemit didnt have much to worry about. Now Steem has a company with a billion dollars, and a genius developer with a vendetta to worry about. There will definitely be a social media competitor on EOS, you made that a certainty with your comment the other day.

Do better, ask the community before you do things like that. We are the thing that will make or break Steemit.. Not you, you will only affect the communities decisions..

Competition is healthy and this is a social media site that any people are allowed to post whatever they want, even Dan Larimer is allowed to have a social media site on a decentralized media platform.

I fully support Steem, but its not like I dont want competition to keep Steem working hard on progress and becoming better.

Understand that any plans seeming “reactionary” out of Dan have actually been planned and plotted for a long time. The only reason his competitor doesn’t exist today is the infrastructure needed to be built first—this is timing. Timing in PR as much as development.

Competition is a good thing and it was always coming. Embrace it. Compete on your terms. Build better product.

There was always going to be competition. Find our strengths. Build strengths.
Now we are in open competition. Embrace it. Flaunt it. Savor it.
We have SMTs. They never can.

We have SMTs. They never can.

Are you "high" or something?

Details matter on these platforms. Here are the important ones on this issue (copy pasted from @dana-edwards recent post https://steemit.com/steem/@dana-edwards/its-a-very-bad-idea-to-power-down-or-sell-steem-right-now-1518490604)

It's actually much more safe, valuable, effective to build these on Steem than any general platform, eos or anything else. I wouldn't dare code these on a general platform and purport they would work very well nor that they could have the same economic benefits to the core token. Ultimately, the idea of general purpose blockchains will also mean meta Proof of Brain tokens are limited by bad bandwidth or transaction pricing and other economic pitfalls, and in the end, application-specific blockchains will over-win opportunities like layered Proof of Brain tokens, such as SMTs.

Check out these sections of the SMT whitepaper. It mentions Ethereum, and the drawbacks of eos will apply just the same:

What Makes SMTs Better Suited to Application-Specific Blockchains, such
as Steem, than Application-General Blockchains, such as Ethereum? 53
SMTs are Safer and More Cost Effective in Application-Specific Blockchain Environments
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 54
SMTs on Steem have Aligned Proof-of-Brain Incentives with the Core Token . 54
SMTs on Steem Have Transaction Pricing that Contributes to a Quality User
Experience . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 55
SMTs Benefit from a Blockchain that has Scaling Processes Programmed to a
Specialized Set of Applications . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 55
SMTs Benefit from a Blockchain with Content Management System (CMS)
Primitives . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 56

How will you prevent a DAPP like "eosteem" that lives on EOS to adapt SMTs-like approach (not EOS itself BUT a DAPP on EOS)?

no one is trying to prevent it in the slightest. an SMT model on a general platform will always be hamstrung by its inability to cooperate with pricing agents (witnesses) by getting parts of its contracts specially priced (like SMTs on Steem are proposed to do). just check out the intersection of Market Maker Pools and bandwidth allocations in the Whitepaper. Steps simply must be taken to make tokens first class - that’s what Steem can go out of its way to do where general purpose cannot.

@ned I certainly hope your theories work out in real life application. I see the benefits you aspire it too, I feel as though there may be an element that’s missing but that’s how things grow down the road, for me steem is to decentralized social media as bitcoin was to Blockchain. It’s the legacy that will give your system the spine it needs to have SMT’s launch fairly successfully. I pray the best for the community, but this thread really calmed my nerves about this debaucle and the SMT rumours that have been floating.

Yes, embrace, flaunt, savor it! Visionaries aren’t afraid of a little heat, in fact they enjoy it. Turn it up I say.

Thanks for the red herring.

Thanks sneak. I feel like I have seen this before. It is worth noting I guess though I need to go back and find complete context. I personally am fine with a person changing their minds. I have friends that quit Facebook weekly, Ron Paul changed his mind about the death penalty, Snowden changed his mind about working for the NSA. Though I am interested to know how long he didn't post for after that, and what he started posting about when he came back.

The community basically begged him to keep blogging. He has a mass of appreciation just for his ideas, nevermind his innovations.

what ideas specifically—legitimate original ideas are practically impossible to come by—even Steem(new token emissions like points in social media) had been dreamed up many times before we got to it

Another red herring. I never said anything about originality.

I'm about to change my mind about my previous decision to not downvote apologists.

I excused Ned for saying stupid shit. I excused dan for saying he wasnt going to post here anymore. I guess I am a through and through apologist. It probably comes from me understanding I'm not perfect. If I'm ever wrong and change my mind. I would like people to understand. So maybe my empathy causes me to be an apologist. I apologize? but downvote what you must. Being able to forgive people their MINOR faults/mistakes is a bad trait I have I guess.

Judging by this post he was only gone for 1 month, and according to the responses the majority of people that are on Steemit appeared to be glad to have him back.

I am also glad you are here too sneak. Someone needs to fight Haejin and I'm not powerful enough. So even if you downvote and hate me for whatever that your mad about, you are appreciated.

An "apologist" is somebody who offers a defense for something controversial. Controversy is anything that causes heated arguments and disagreements - in other words, fucking important shit.

Thank you so much for playing the devils advocate, for being understanding, and for being an "apologist". Thanks for not being a sheep. And thanks for not being an asshole.

I would have given this comment a higher vote, but I am saving my VP for curation of the Venezuelan folks since I was delegated SP by same. This reply deserves a 500% upvote!

Also I lost track of time. The post payout is over. Damn I need to get a better quality of weed.

We won't change our minds about poor hiring decisions and childish, power corrupted assholes on the steemit payroll acting like children, much like this ridiculous comment of yours here proves so well, and ned's little play at idiocy and backpedaling the day after here, when obvious feud is months old and so obviously fear based, so what's your point, little man @sneak?

Here here! The competition can't come soon enough!

HOLY SHIT don't get me started man...

@sneak We can't avoid reasoning; we can only avoid doing it well.

I can't imagine working directly for any of the US govt intel agencies. The whole concept of intel goes hand and hand with corruption, but lately it has gotten so bad lately that major players arent even tryin to hide it anymore. Imagine actually having a conscience while having to report to someone such as Jaames Comey, or Eric Holder. Imagine actually knowing the truth behind all of the bullshit conspiracies that are relevant atm

Quintessential common business sense, you are right on the mark. Not a CEO, Anarchocapitalist (still trying to get a good grasp of what the label truly means) or business man myself, but have worked in the business sector as a marketing director for a short time, so I agree with the statement:

You act like competition is horrible. This is a free market. and I believe most users of this platform encourage free markets and healthy competition. I WANT A STEEM COMPETITOR, and so should you unless you want this place to be Myspace next year. Its never the case that THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE social media site. THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE BOOK STORE. Read me right: Competition is a good thing. Embrace it. Flaunt it. Savor it. Build better product.

When you have competitors—make them known to you—find them—analyze them—pick them apart—find good things—see weaknesses—take ideas—beat them. Enjoy it.

Just dont turn this competition into another petty flag war. Rather show us the "product".

Yes if you saw a petty flag war—look deeper or just read my original comment

So it has been 2 months and no product. What's the hold-up? EOS will be launching very soon. Not much time left. There are already functioning platforms that work very much like steemit does. ONO which will launch soon after EOS is launched, for one.

Jesus fucking christ dude. Calm down, the project is damn near as transparent as you can possibly get. If you want to know whats going on just check the github.

https://github.com/steemit/steem/projects/5?fullscreen=true

Just have a bit of patience, Steem has gotten to this point by having cutting edge tech that other projects cant even hope to compete with rather than hype. Id much rather SMTs be a little late rather than have them come out less than 1000% ready.

Thank your for the clarification of your statement young sir. Maybe if you would have explained the reason for downvoting Mr. Larimer's article on EOS instead of just using the term aggrandizement, folks would not be so angry right now. The action was perceived to be a personal attack upon Mr. Larimer by many. As he is respected by a great deal of people on this platform, it would be expected that folks would come to his defense.

It is my perception, through my observations, the observation of others and following the projects and point papers, that Mr. Larimer is a visionary and genius. Like many folks of that personality persuasion they begin projects and leave the oversight/management to others. Not necessarily a case of ADHD, as young Nate described Mr. Larimer some months ago in my hearing, but the way of idea people. Even if Mr. Larimer does in fact have what some term ADHD is that a bad thing? I would fair to say that DaVinci, Bell, Edison would all be described the same way if they lived in our present world.

Sir, you have made a mistake. That is fine. We are all human. Instead of excuses, you would do better to ask forgiveness and move on. Their is nothing wrong with admitting our errors and seeking reconciliation with those we have offended. One of the parties must make the first step in mending the fence. I have a great deal of personal experience in this area. Be sure though that you do not end your apology with a phrase beginning with but. That negates the mea culpa and also no one cares about your butt (except maybe a girlfriend/boyfriend).

Some of us have beat you up enough, now it is time for us to dust you off and tell you why we were angry. Let us move on to the next controversy. Is that not the way of woman and man kind?

I’m not here to apologize—I’m here to rally Steem against undermining forces. Read my original comment and understand why it happened. It’s time to compete openly.

Your self aggrandizing upvote had the opposite effect Ned. I can see there's no use seeking an apology nor would it do much good at this point. If you really wanted the community to stand with you and compete then you should have stood with them when they requested that you reverse the mistake of the last hardfork.

People have no faith in a platform where the 40-51% stakeholder is the only one we can really depend on to develop the blockchain as they have the greatest incentive to move us in the right direction but stubbornly turn their backs on us when somebody says this direction was recommended by "Dan Larimer". Just say the name and you're suddenly unapproachable.

I had hoped the reaction from the community would teach you something but you're still trying to beat down the competitor or any comments in their favour instead of listening to the community and moving this ship in the direction for growth.

I trust that you and the team have been working hard. That I'm sure of. Don't let bitterness get in the way. It's you that's drinking the poison to defeat your enemy. You're drinking it.

Your self aggrandizing upvote had the opposite effect Ned.

THIS ^^^

Gave some advice. If business is in fact more important than preserving a friendship, or at least mutual respect, then I have no reply to your reply. But, since I always like to have the last word, I am replying. I am old and it is one of my quirks.

OK, thanks ;)

Too many read into the noise of all of this, and very few see the signal (the true message). Your a strange mix of both randomness and conventional sapience. This is the true @ned that v.few get to see ... until now! Keep it up! ... "Full Steem ahead!!" :-)

Dang, had to look that word up:

Sapience is the quality of being wise, or wisdom. When voters are choosing a candidate, they usually hope for one with at least a degree of sapience. ... Sapience is an Old French word that comes from the Latin sapientia, "good taste, good sense, intelligence, or wisdom."

Thank you sir, for improving my vocabulary. I will probably use this word in the future, hopefully I use it in context and remember what it means.

When all this started I also had to look up the word: aggrandizement:

Aggrandizement is the noun form of the verb aggrandize, "to increase the power or reputation of something," and it usually implies that there's some exaggeration going on.

All that glitters is not gold...
Some "ghost" miners creating coins "out of thin air" to reward themselves boggles my mind. Some "good trustworthy" miners running computer softwares that give you your personal and public Keys through their computer programs means they already have both your public AND private keys and capable to hack your account ANYTIME they want. How can I believe these " do-no-evil" miners telling me that the bitcoins decrease with time when they can create them out of thin air ANYTIME to reward themselves?? Crypto-currency is one big MATRIX system and those without common sense will fall for it. Crypto-technology is what "cooks" the book, or rather its better to say it is what "cooks" the block-chain and keeps the matrix alive.

There is no longer any such thing as a steem miner, and has't been since pre-public-launch in 2016... So this is all sort of ???

Miners did exist after launch. They lasted for several hardforks actually. They were voted out.

Ah that is correct, and I stand corrected, your Pirate Queen-ness of Lore! :)

The vote and comment was strictly to make a point and draw out Daniel's long-running, subtextual, subversive intent to compete with Steem, to give the public alignment with his private discourse, which has long been filled with express intent to compete. And of course I will retract the vote.

You may have thought you were making that point @Ned. Your actions made a much louder point. You showed yourself unable to respond in a business like manner. It really doesn't matter if you knew, suspected or just wondered if EOS was going to result in a competitor. You should have been long ago expecting a competitor was going to appear and been diligently making steady consistent progress building this platform into what it can be.

While much might be going on behind the scenes, what the users and public sees doesn't show much indication of anything but navel gazing happening. Who cares if EOS or anyone else is going to build a competitor? Don't just talk about what is coming and then go into radio silence on the topic.

There has been an ongoing lack of communication from Steemit Inc for months. It shows a lack of respect for the users, especially the dedicated users who have faith in the future of the platform even in the face of seeing little to no forward progress.

You might not like that Dan posts progress reports here on Steemit. He is still a user here. There is no reason for him not to post if he chooses to. I for one would not have even seen his post if not for your behaviour. So, you drew attention to him and his project, currently and in the future.

After months of you pretty much MIA around the platform, you show up by pulling a stunt anything but indicative of the CEO of a serious firm. That is the point you made. You've also imprinted the impression that your actions directly led to the EOS competitor. I may be dead wrong but you know, perception is everything.

Now that you've shown your colours and your voting power. Maybe it's time you took some action to resolve the ongoing haejin issue. That is a greater threat to this platform than anything Dan will do, IF you lead Steemit.inc to build this platform into what it should be.

Yes don’t you see I have never stopped building throughout our time? Visit the SMT whitepaper. I always expect competition. I just don’t like when competition masquaurades as friend while planning to compete. The community deserves to know.

Regardless of all, I do it all for the vision. Empowering entrepreneurs to tokenize the web with Steem.

"Regardless of all, I do it all for the vision. Empowering entrepreneurs to tokenize the web with Steem."

This is what @ned has been saying for a long time. He didn't say he wanted to build a social media site, in fact he has been pretty clear about this.

I am unclear how others keep thinking it should be his goal to build the SteemIt site. He has said it over and over with his words and his actions.

He is working on a blockchain, not the social media site. Whether I like that decision or not, I have accepted it.

I do appreciate the response and obviously many of us care greatly about this platform. Competition isn't really a concern as it's still a ways off and hopefully SMTs will have solidified STEEM into a much higher market cap as we will be viable for community tokens and potentially ICOs. I remain optimistic for the future and hopefully the drama blows over. Glad to hear you will be removing that vote and thanks again for taking the time to respond.

Cheers, thanks for asking me these questions.

Hi Ned i need your help i don't know how can i talk with you by private i hope you will see this message !

But... you didn't actually answer them, @ned, you just copy-pasta'd the same shit you've said on every other thread about this and it's not a satisfactory show of accountability whatsoever, it's pathetic back-peddling in the face of an entire community calling you dumb right now.

It actually accomplished a specific goal. To uncover their hidden plans to compete. They jumped at the opportunity to announce - if you didn’t notice.

I’m all for competition if it must be - I wasn’t for subversive contradictory, pre competitive narratives.

Here’s how I explained it to the Witnesses

Witness: Well, on the discussion if eos aims to compete with steem or not. The first example contract that was uploaded to their public repository was actually this one: https://github.com/EOSIO/eos/blob/master/contracts/social/social.cpp

Ned: Yeah, it was not hard to put the clues together. Beyond that they’ve been talking privately about competing directly since the beginning. Better to take the sheeps clothing off the wolf. Thank me later

We’ll compete openly if we compete at all, better than an aggressive, surprising subversion moment 6-10 months later. Only reason it hasn’t happened sooner is the order of development [infrastructure first] that needs to happen.

Now we build. SMTs outcompete. Communities out network. Build or die regardless.

More on SMTs at https://SMT.Steem.io

I think I get it now. Your thinking was Dans building a competitor and everybody should know about it, so lets push him into a corner and give him the perfect opportunity to announce a competitor by showing just how corrupt our own system is.

yes - kind of hilarious they would blame creation of a competitor entirely on the superficial vote of one guy - demeans their mission and what they owe their investors -
better to understand the reality - it was planned by them all along..

Ned are you really trying to be serious right now?! I'm not referring to what they had planned nor do I care as a steemian. Sure as an investor in Eos I may be interested to know, but you're not exposing some kind of scam here. You're giving them perfect exposure and giving your network the need for a more accountable healthy eco system.

Your action in combination with the rejection of respectful criticism and requests from the community to fix the corruption of this system that is empowering the greedy and screwing good people are literally pushing us away. I'm really sorry that it's come to this but SMT's are not going to fix shit if the system is broken at the core.

The meme isn't about their plans to compete it's about your silly attempt to deflect from admitting fault here where you simply should have had more self restraint.

Hidden plans? Really? It's a block chain built by the same guy that built this one. If you think his agenda is hidden, how did you ever become a CEO who is barely old enough to be out of college?

I was busy being live hosting a show on the SteemStar Network streaming network promoting steem and steemians with a couple other witnesses (im in the 70s myself) during that dialog or I certainly would have been there.

Many of us have spent 1000s of hours on this platform each, building it and by extension you, up. I'd ask you to keep that in mind with your actions, as @clayboyn has done.

As my business mentors would say, you ain't too big to fail and you are as only as strong as your customer loyalty.

As my momma would say, you ain't too big to spank.

Get a grip and restrain yourself. The theater is just not serving your goal whatsoever, and made you look really bad.

As I understand the history, Dan sort of handed you this life. You might want to think through before pissing him off.

Steem was nothing but 6 guys when we started. Dan was an integral, catalyzing part - meaning yeah there’d be no steem without him - but there’d be no Steem without the others too - would Dan have built something else? Sure. Would it have been a success? can’t be said. It’s the same for the Eos “team”. The entire founding team of Steem were integral for their strengths. Steem development has gone from worth nothing to near failure and back again several times. Just read the SMT paper if you think this all has to do with one person. We happen to be stronger than ever. Im now working with the most talented CTO I’ve ever had the privelege to, Harry Schmidt. And we have only been growing since Dan left Steem at an all time low. Just look at the STEEM price.

So do I thank Dan for his talents and years of work - yes very much for specific moments and times I certainly do. On the whole do I thank him? On the whole, Im neutral, there were a lot of mistakes and worse that balance it out, and I’m certainly not thanking him for continuing to grow Steem. Better to clean break and move on, and we build, and old hats stop holding on to past projects crafting potential to scoop this community into a new, less competitive, evvacuous bucket. They have something like $3B USD - more than enough to go to market without clinging to old hen house riling up the roost for interpersonal, competitive reasons.

In light of all these “competitors” I vastly prefer Steem and SMTs for its application specific advantages as we tokenize the web.

More on SMTs at https://SMT.Steem.io

Thanks for the responses Ned. Good job delegating to zappl too! That's a good move.

I'm sorry if I seem like a huge asshole. That's not my intention.

I get where your coming from though. I respect you, and I want nothing but the best for Steem.

This is a social media platform. So as a social media platform you need to allow anyone who wants to use this social media platform to use it (even Dan, even Tom from Myspace, even mark Zuckerberg, or the LBRY team, whoever). Even if they talk about a competing platform.

People on Steem are constantly poaching people from Reddit and Facebook.

To me this is saying it's ok to go on a social media sites to bring people to Steem, but to come to Steem and encourage a different social media sites is a crime.

Just take the first mover advantage. As well as all the work the community has put in and allow/help it be great. Dtube, dlive, zappl, dmania all community/user created.. all very good for the Steem blockchain.

What I want and I feel like others would want is you and Dan to come as competitors and blockchain enthusiasts and to make EOS and Steem interoperable. Team up with LBRY and make them interoperable too! Golos even. Make the best user interface and user experience, and win that way.. while remaining blockchain inclusive!

Compromise is where both parties walk away unhappy.. and that's what I wish you and Dan could do. Make it so my post here could be put on Golos, and LBRY, and Ong social, and even a future EOS competitor!

Wow, I will definitely be investing in eos. Thanks for sharing.

So some history. I have 35 years in the technology industry. I've won an award from the president of the united states for my service on his initiatives in the 90s. I am a former NASA consultant. And I was more recently the Director of Technology for a social network of all things, and now am a VP of Technology for a SaaS company. To wit, we are on my playing field here.

Fact, whatever Dan does will be a competitor to you, it's his frigging career skill, man.

Fact, what you did is ridiculous, and demands an apology to your customers, ALL of us, for your reactionary behavior. Try to spin it as foresight all you want, but anybody with 20 seconds in this industry knows better than that right now, and it's embarrassing to watch and incredibly damaging to the platform and ecosystem which extends well beyond Steemit, Inc, and will survive well beyond Steemit, Inc at this rate.

Now, I too have a feud going down on the platform where I took the role of Dan against someone in your shoes. So I get it, you'e scared of his potential to win just like @aggroed is of me.

I left PAL/MSP as a dedicated leader, who built their crown jewel, MSP Waves Network, then went on to form a new competing network called SteemStar Network, and the worlds first block chain transparent, community fueled worldwide humanitarian aid organization, now doing work in seven countries and powered by generous steemians, nearly all of them the smallest minnows, not you whales, who still optimistically come here and believe in the dream you all sold them.

Then you do this shit.

I can't condone it, and have yet to hear any remorse, regret or apology from you, and that's remarkably poor form right now.

Right or wrong, suck it up buttercup. This is your directive from the people who make or break this place and it resonates in every.single.comment on all the threads on this topic, except by the youngest, newest people who have no idea what has really been going on here for months.

You've battled Dan on every post since he left. But this is a decentralized network, so if you can empower bikini clad ramen recipe posters to scam 35K out of the pool every week here, likewise, @dan can post whatever he wants.

After all, he is pretty clear on how it works. Are you?

PS - the SMT commercials are getting old now. Produce the 2016 and 2017 roadmaps first maybe?

It is never a mistake to care for a good cause

Thank you for clarifying this @Ned
but it has drawn in a lot of negative attention to the subject of
@Dan supposedly creating a "Steem"2.0
that isn't really something I would highlight (yet)
during these unstable times, we should be
united

not
divided

Well all many persons wanted from being active on that post by Dan was curations.. I remember waking up to see this toggle and was particularly happy not because of the dispute but because a lot of @steemit faithfuls were rewarded amongst the toggle.
Kudos to a system that works without bias.

hi @ned i want to ask you an advice :) i want to make a project trough steemit i think you can help me to start up this project i want to talk with you on discord you can find me with the same username ! thanks

Steem is what is now the best coin in the whole market.

Eos could be something better, but it is still a "projekt" and only a TOKEN on the ethereum Blockchain and a man with the potential to make something even greater then Steem...

I am mostly with Steem, because it has utility NOW!

Looking forward to also participate in APPICS as the first SMT... Even then team behind is VERY young and probably a little immature (no offense)... Ned is advisor so I am in with what ever little stake I have at that time... They wrote "global" in their whilepaper or website, so they dont know about Flat Earth yet...

Ned I am behind you with the little I got.

Lasse

Aggrandizement.

Now we compete. No more aggrandization getting in the way.

The mature course of action for us, meaning you me and all of Steem, is embrace competition rather than pretend it doesn’t exist. When you have competitors—make them known to you—find them—analyze them—pick them apart—find good things—see weaknesses—take ideas—beat them. Enjoy it.

We have Smart Media Tokens (SMTs). They never can.

They have something strong, whichever project they are, then we take it. And we make it better.

Compete, move faster. Win.

A new SMT has been created in your name: AggrandizementCoin

Thank you. I will sharedrop these on dan.

Hello @ned I hope all of these end well🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭

Hey @ned, the Steemit Daily Dose is back again! I passed you a mention thanking you for resetting my password. Do drop by soon :)

Lols
At last..
An actual good use for a coin

Please upvote my post @ned thanks.

Dilly Dilly!

天下武功,无坚不破,唯快不破 - Kung Fu Hustle

Ned should be the role model of the platform. He is the CEO. Where in the fucking world could you have a CEO of ANY company act the way he does? It is completely adverse to the platform and he does exactly what we hope users do not do. This extreme self voting is disrespectful to the people who make steem great with great content and also to Dan. We have no hope unless the people in charge: Ned, Sneak, either change their ways or are removed from their positions.

I want steem to succeed and not fall apart. Obviously he either doesn't care or is completely ignorant to this. Greed could play a role. But I am completely in the same mind set as you @clayboyn, and i think there needs to be more transparency and more active development from the people being paid to do so.

Thanks for bring more attention to this matter. Stinc really gets on my nerves.

The great thing about a blockchain is they can outlive the usefulness of the people that were left in charge of them. I pointed to GOLOS for a reason, and while I seriously hope things don't end up having to go that way again, this is why blockchains are disruptive and unable to be permanently controlled by anyone. Let's hope for a more positive resolution to these issues before resorting to the most dire of solutions.

Good point. We are not reliant on them. BUT, they do set a bad image for the platform and are bad role models for our newest members. They play too big a role in the future of the platform whether we like it or not. I wish Ned would be more receptive to his critiques so that we could hope for a positive outcome and path in this regard.

ALL OF THIS @nicnas and as long as sheep keep following these nim-nods blindly and revering them without a good reason, we will have this sort of immaturity and ridiculous behavior continuing. Bunch of spoiled, new money fools, and you know what? DAN LARIMER MADE THEM, and they know it and he terrifies them now that he's gone on to eliminate their dead weight and make the next big hit they cannot compete with.

Isn’t Trump kind of a CEO that acts like that?

Be the change you want to see in this world.

Exactly my friend!

I apologize in advance to direct your readers and followers, but for the sake of Steem and for everyone all over the world who needs Steem to succeed, please know this is important:

Andreas Antonopoulos 1st Steemit Post Ever!

Please go check out this this 1st time post by Andreas Antonopoulos, as you know this guy is the biggest advocate for bitcoin from 2011 to 2017, and because of his endorsement and technological argument for ETH function in 2016 & early 2017, ETH adoption went from $5 to $500.

Someone like him needs to hear feedback from real people on Steem, somebody like him don't give 2 fcuks about getting rich of crypto, he needs to know if this is something that will change society and blockchain technology, and that Steem is far from just another sensationalized shit coin....and we know it's not

Andreas needs to know Steem is life changing, and if he spend even a little time on Steemit he will. If he someday will invest time to help Steem get better....just 1 great idea from him that gives birth to widely adopted Steem DAP and Steem can rise another $100 / $200 / $500 / easily $500 and allow us to reach and payout more people all over the world than ever before, especially in 3rd world countries.

There are a number of old school Steemians replying back to Andreas like the glass is half empty....that's just terrible way to convince Andrea.

He needs to see the positive about Steem, it the way he see things best...into the future....he must see Steem as the gateway crypto for the next 25-50miliion non-cryto users, not investors, but actual users in the next 18-36months...he need to see this badly so he can learn that Steem will change the power struggle and give the power (economy) back to the people, then he will consider Steem and not all the stupid FUD-mongers who's got a bone to pick with a handful of Steem-Whales.

Please see my reply to Andrea to consider using Steemit, appreciate any support you can give by upvoting his 1st post generously so it's stay on trending for the next 7 days or longer.

Highest Regards,
dj123

I'm actually glad you shared that as I had no idea. Resteemed it as well.

I do not know what is going on in this platform. I just see the picture that, @dan the most social person here. and @ned included a thoughtful person. I hope this platform continues to grow because for me this platform is a window for people's economy. hopefully this will be a certain blessing and can provide a positive thing for the people around the world. thanks so much...I love you both

EOS vs STEEM= RIPPLE vs STELLAR
I think competition would make a company thrive, without a competition you get bored, but with competition it makes your heart bit fast, then survival instinct will arise and will correspond to creativity.

This is what I pictured yesterday.

Well done @clayboyn. Some are saying ballsy move. Not at all, it shows your integrity and dedication to the platform which you clearly. Anyone should be able to address concerns like this openly and honestly. Isn't that was this community is about?

I am truly hoping @ned responds. Not as a means of 'having to explain himself' None of us should have to do that, but to answer some of the questions you have. It is never good when the view of the top people are one thing and the view from the bottom is different.

I absolutely agree about transparency and integrity being one of the key issues in the community. If not there would be no need for steemcleaners and the like.

Thank you for sharing your view

Speaking some truth to power here. This platform has such an amazing potential if the top 20-50 users shared the same ideals that the platform itself tries to espouse.

This platform has such an amazing

your spam is getting irritating.

More powerful people gonna flag

LOL. That's cute. Don't twist your arm patting yourself on the back.

What's cute is watching newbs show up with 30 days and 30 bucks and act like idiots. Fun to watch em learn or burn. Now which one are you smart enough for?

Wow. I've never met someone so arrogant. There's a named complex for the way you're acting. It's called Narcissism. Keep talking. You have more to say about yourself each time than you do about me.

I have to say Thank You for writing this, and for the conversation that has been inspired. It's been an educational experience to say the least!

I wanted a more direct response to the delegation part, but we'll probably never get that. Doesn't hurt to keep asking though. Thanks for taking the time to read it. :)

What did you learn here that most old timers and regulars like you and I didn't already know?

well, I didn't realize that there was already a plan to make a competing social media platform, for one.

/facepalm, how could Dan NOT build the next version of this, when he's left on outspoken terms about how this experiment needs adaptation and change and it DOES!

I mean, it's unimaginable to me anyone at all ever, least of all Ned suddenly somehow sees this as a surprise? It's DAN! He makes social blockchains, thats what he does all day every day.
