RE: My Contribution to the Steem Community: 25000 upvotes!
The only problem with this is that too many votes dilutes your vote strength.
Did you know that unless a reply (and a post) makes over $0.02 at payout that it receives $0.00 ?
So, if you gave a 50% vote to someone's reply at the beginning of the week, with a value of $0.021 and the value of STEEM drops, so its value is now $0.019 then, it gets set to $0.00 (See dust sweeping for more information on this. Dust sweeping, upvoting replies to push it over that $0.021 payout point)
It is hard to balance your votes and voting power.
Thank you for that insight!
My VP is usually at 50%. I'd like to keep it higher to contribute better upvotes, but I can't help it. There is too much good content on Steemit that I want to support. I used to upvote mostly comments, but after learning about the $0.02 rule, I've been upvoting posts instead. I use Dustsweeper too, it's awesome!
This is why I upvote the latest post, rather than the comment.
(the upvoted comment is to trigger dustsweeper for you.) :-)
