1 YEAR ON STEEMIT!!!

in #steemit7 years ago

Wow!   It is hard to believe it has been a year since I signed up for Steemit.com! There were a lot of ups and downs but we have came a long way in a years time and we will ultimately go a lot further.  I am 100% confident now that the STEEM blockchain will not fail.  The community is too strong, too much time and energy has been invested, and it is one of the best opportunities on the Internet!

If you don't know who I am I want to say Hi!  I'm Brian Phobos the inventor of the Pool Meeting concept. I figure that everyone has fun at the pool so why not have a meeting there?

This is a Pool Meeting I had a couple of weeks ago.

Here is a video of one of my adventures.  I like to jump off of cliffs.

I'm also really into sports.

Hopefully that shows some new users a little more about me!  I'm looking forward to celebrating several more years on Steemit and at some point we will all be whales!

Nice. One year you sign up but u gotta make up in being active for that year, too as see some inactivities. 😉 wink. But that is okay. Your content is making a huge comeback and you provides lots of values.

Thank you. Yeah there was about 2 months were I didn't post any blogs. It got pretty rough on here for sure.

Congrats mannnn, that's a lot of days! So far I'm like 50 days in... I see steemit to be huge and very different from a year from now :)

Thanks! Yeah it will evolve but remember that even if it doesn't get Reddit big or Facebook big we can all still have our piece of Bitty Richness!

Great job, is not easy to stay through so many ups and downs in any platform, your worthy of being celebrated, for the energy and time you have put into this wonderful community. Congregations, wishing you more success. Upvoted

Thank you I appreciate it! I have spent a ton of time on here and at times it has been frustrating but in reality it is all worth it!

is good to hear that. Your an inspiration to some of us who are new in this community. Weldon

Talk about mixing business with pleasure :)

Congratulation on your one year anniversary. I'm just a month old. One day I'll do my one year anniversary <3

Woooooh yeah! Well done man, and STEEM ON!

Thank you! We have been here since the early days! It is still really early here which is a great thing!

Did I suggest the blow up whale? I can't remember?

It is hard to say but we will give you credit just because you are cool!

It was either a blow up whale or a blow up lady- I can't remember which one i suggested you get! 😉

A big congratulations to the cool guy who blogs in the pool. maybe you need to create #coolpoolguy or #coolpoolblogger.

Hahhaha, thanks! I want to do more travel adventure blogging. Hopefully soon!

you are welcome. good luck with the travel

Hey buddy liked the cliff jumping video. I'm terrified of heights but for some odd reason am also obsessed with jumping off cliffs. Whenever I go to Negril I always go out by the cliffs and jump in some of the more rural areas as well as at Ricks Cafe which is where all the super high jumper guys go.

How did your tooth crack, did you hit anything in the water or just from the impact of hitting the water?

I couldn't stop laughing when you were saying you hurt your nuts, thats always my biggest fear if I'm going over 40 or 50 feet.

Jumping off cliffs is scary for sure. I start feeling physically sick and shaky when I'm around the cliffs and get pretty nervous. But when you come up it feels amazing!

Basically one of my molars was the first point of contact in my mouth and when I impacted the water my teeth went together. I didn't even know there was anything wrong with my tooth because my nuts got blasted so hard. Then I was back at our camp site and pieces of tooth were lose and I reached in there and had chunks of tooth I was pulling out. It sucked.

I remember the first time I jumped from one of the higher towers one of the Jamaican guys gave me two lime wedges to bit on, I guess kinda like a makeshift mouth guard, I hadn't really given it much thought at the time though. At Ricks most of the tourists jump from I think maybe 35 feet but there's a couple higher cliffs and a couple trees you can climb and get up to about 100. I'm not that brave but some of these jamaican dudes are nuts doing flips and dives off there. I remember after I got back reading about some lady who broke her pelvis jumping. Didn't realize it was so dangerous. Your right though I love that terrified feeling when your getting ready to jump and then you jjust feel on cloud 9 the rest of the afternoon after you do it. I think its the same area you were at I've seen a couple drunk dudes bust their ass real bad sliding down the cliff side

That is hilarious. You had a makeshift mouth guard. I would be afraid to choke. I usually yell when I jump. Not on purpose but it is scary when you accelerate like that.

100 feet is unreal. Some of the guys now are jumping just stupid heights I never thought were possible to have a good chance of living. But they are nailing them and becoming legends.

A lot of times when I hear about people getting injured on cliffs it is usually girls / women. I know that might sounds sexist but I have never personally seen a woman jump off anything higher than 35 feet and all the stories and a lot of videos of people being knocked out it happens to be women. There have been some bad stories of guys getting hurt really badly as well and even dying. I'm wanting to get a thin neoprene life jacket. Because there have been cases where people's lungs have collapsed or they have passed out and lost all their air and floated to the bottom.

One of the badass jumpers on YouTube wears one of these jackets. He didn't used to but I think it is smart that he started.

Now you have me watching Cliff jumping videos again!

haha that video is awesome. zero fucks given about how they land lol.

Yeah as far as people getting hurt I noticed it was always people who didn't commit to jumping and would run towards the end and then get scared and pull back and try to stop, I saw a few people not be able to stop and bang against the rocks going down.

down by eastern illinois we used to have this little country highway called highway 420, it was just an old dirt/gravel road but if you took that road it led to this little river and we used to go swing from ropes and jump off trees. there was this one tree that kind of curved sideways over the river maybe 35 or 40 feet up. it was the perfect height to where if you stood at the top and just let yourself naturally fall back you would do 2 perfect flips before you hit the water feet first.

there's a quarry or something by indiana university that ive heard has some pretty decent jumps. have you been?

I never went to the quarry by Indiana University but I heard about that as well. I never really researched into it. I was down there a few times for other reason.

Whenever I see people jumping in rivers it makes me worried. Since the water flows enough there could be logs or something under there. That is always my worry. Or sand fills in.

Congrats man, it's been and will be a heck of a ride!!

Yeah it sure has!

While it's a year for you and I'm only here for like 20 days. I wish I've known and introduced here much earlier. Congratulation on your achievement so far.

I got lucky when I found out about it in a lot of ways. It has been a very interesting year for sure! You are still really early so that is the great thing!

yea, still new here. I heard like it's kinda in a laid back period now. Probably I joined late.
