Well, that makes sense. After all I cannot comment on FB or other platform unless I'm a member, why would this be any different?
But generally I completely agree with what you're saying. It's a matter of keep going and, as you say, be consistent.
A few extra thoughts;
- Do read other posts and give good comments. Not just "Yeah, I agree" or "Good work", that's bot-work. Read, comment and you will get noticed. Then people start following you, exposing your own work to the greater community.
- Mind your spelling and punctuation. I come across a lot, and I mean A LOT, of posts that are either unreadable because of bad spelling or where a posts is one huge sentence.
- Set some goals. My ultimate goal is to beat the whales and become an iceberg. Just float around while everyone has to go around me.
- Try to "lively-up" (is that even a word?) your posts with nice pictures of gifs (like this one). You can also left-align or right-align an image with the text next to it.
Don't get upset of frustrated. This will show in your writing and will not help you.
Take your time, enjoy what you're doing and what others are doing and grow, grow, grow!!!!
Absolutely!!! Thank you for those tips. Definitely making relevant comments that show you were genuinely interested in the article will start a chain reaction and that's how you develop a relationship. "vote for vote" won't get you anywhere. I originally had added a 4th habit Compassion - Don't judge yourself to hard and don't determine your value based on the amount of upvotes or money your post makes. When you giver yourself space and permission to write freely, sparks of your personality will show, and that will be what gives your posts life and what will aid you in finding your voice and keep you going.
