There is no way to delete your steem account?
I've been trying to find a way to delete another account but there is no option for it. You might want to do this for any number of reasons.Am I missing something?

Accounts cannot be deleted the same way that you can't delete a bitcoin address. Once you use your address to do a transaction it's there for posterity in the blockchain. Steemit.com is a website that interacts with the Steem blockchain. I am not sure but I think that you can edit your posts so that the content is erased. This will make the content no longer visible in the website however it can still be viewed in the blockchain if someone is willing to look for it.
That means the site is illegal in Europe. They have "right to be forgotten" laws. This is actually an issue.
I am not a lawyer but I don´t think it´s illegal. Steemit.com is under USA jurisdiction so european laws should not apply.
If Europeans access the site they may.
