Comments are an overlooked part of Steemit. Comments allow you to reach out to other users and interact. Some tips are: Ask questions about users posts, add valuable information to other authors posts, Don't simply say "Nice Post". Say why you liked the post. How did it make you feel. It's no secret that there are Bots on Steemit. You are a REAL person, so act like one - dont act like a bot!.
I missed a big opportunity on my introduction post. I was soo excited to get started - that I just rushed my intro post. Check out the hot and trending "introduceyourself" tabs. Posts that include your photo (often with a Steemit sign) tend to do the best. Just be honest and tell people about yourself.
I would recommend posting at least once a day if possible. The more post you put out the more followers you will get. But, try not to spam Steemit with tons of half-assed posts. Try to focus on posting content that is unique- this will bring you the most followers in the long run.

A lot of people on Steemit are talented. Use your talents to do a Steemit specific project. Maybe use a portion of your earnings on Steemit to feed the hungry in your town. Get creative and try to bridge the gap of Steemit online vs Steemit in the real world.

Very good post and great tips... I have gained about 300 followers in 1 week (since joining) I try to comment on all good articles and upvote as well.... as I did on this one. I also post quite a bit - probably too often. I'm not sure why I earn $50 on some and 4 cents on others. It is all very strange. Learning as I go here.
Yea - I am still learning. Most of my posts are bellow the $1 mark. I havent really posted too much yet. I have been doing a lot of comments.
