I Set a Proxy for My Witness Voting
I chose @naturalmedicine as my witness voting proxy at the advice of other Steemians.
I'm kind of apprehensive about the whole thing because it's hard to trust someone I don't really know with the power to control my witness votes. But I don't have time to research all the witnesses myself and delegate the votes on my own. So I'm hoping this helps the community.
My thought was that what if some people from Tron were trolling all the threads where people talk about witness proxies and telling people to use their own proxies to turn the votes in their favor? But there doesn't seem to be any evidence of this.
It seems like this whole Justin Sun/Tron fiasco has brought the Steemit community together to fight back, as most everyone here believes in the concept of decentralization.
How interesting that an idea that bears parallels to anarchy (no central authority) can unite large numbers of people toward a common goal (defending against a hostile takeover by a central authority).
I'm still confused as to what the motivation behind Justin Sun's decision to try and take control of Steemit was. If you have any thoughts on this, please let me know in the comments.
I'm sure someone has written about this topic, but over the past couple weeks there has been so much content published about Tron and the takeover attempt, it's hard to sort through it all.
I'm lucky to have found out about witness proxies, at least. Are any of you also using a proxy? If so, which one?
