It's always worrisome when a group of people get together, and go around telling others what to do. Do we really want people with different views to be shut up? I think most of us want to be free to say what we want, about whatever we want. We don't need people flagging our posts because we used the word "guys" instead of "people" or whatever word is acceptable with the progressives nowadays. If steemit is to get as big as I'm sure all of us would like, its extremely important we keep it free of censorship. So how do we stop this from happening? One way would be to avoid joining socialist groups who promise things like upvotes if you join them.
I know what your thinking. "oh, you don't want censorship yet you want to stop the freedom of groups to speak out". No, that's not what I'm asking for. I'm just using the freedom I do have, in the hopes no more people join that group. I'm not going to flag them or anything because I believe everyone has the right to say what they want. Just like I hope I don't get flagged for speaking my mind, but we all know the libtards wont let this go unflagged. so again, what can we do about censorship? I think steemit needs to get rid of that fucking flag. Its no good for freedom of speech. Fuck the flag and everything it represents. These groups who seek to control the content on steemit that gets popular should go back over to facebook with all the other liberals and injoys the censorship of any other views. This platform was made by freedom lovers, for freedom lovers who believe in a fair and free market. As for the evil group, dont join. If they get a big enought following, anything and everything they as a group dont like wont have a fighting chance. If your part of that group, you should think long and hard about what your helping promote. Lets keep steemit free of controllers who seek to censor.

Those guidelines are for votes used from within that specific community using publicly delegated Steem Power. If you're going to use our SP to vote your own shit you have follow our guidelines, which I'd argue are pretty fuckin' low bar. That said you can do whatever the fuck you want on here. How are they censoring you say. Well they have a large group of people scanning the posts set on flagging anything and everything they don't like. Everything is subjective. whats hate speech to you might not be to someone else. Does a decentralized platform really need to have those controls? Why not let the community decide? Isn't that the appeal of steemit? A decentralized social media with freedom at its core. Not some group leader promising you up votes if you just follow the rules THEY have decided to set.

You're confusing control of an entire platform with the guidelines of a particular group uses to have a say on how THEIR community works. There has been zero censorship of STEEMIT nor has there been any inclination to do so. FREEDOM includes the right for groups to conduct themselves any way they see fit.

Okay, here's the thing. This isn't about "rights," or censorship. It's about someone who got kicked or banned (or threatened with such) from the MSP group for infringing on the "rights" of others in some way. I would bet real money on that. It's about a temper tantrum, a toddler who didn't get his way.
If it were truly about "rights," then this counter-argument would carry weight: others have rights, as well. Others have rights to live free of harrassment, free of bullying, free of pornography, free of hate speech, free of violence and personal attack. Those rights will always supercede someone's "right" to shit all over them and call it freedom.

If the bot didn't have so many different people's SP delegated, I don't think they would need to put restrictions on how it is used. They are simply trying to avoid using other people's voting strength that was given to them to possibly upvote something they wouldn't approve of.
That isn't censorship, it's merely being fair to all the people who sent SP to the bots.
